SOME PASSENGER VEHICLES HAVE A CONDITION IN WHICH THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT BOLT MAY BE LOOSE. |
| Consequences |
AN IMPROPERLY TIGHTENED BOLT COULD LOOSEN, RESULTING IN SEPARATION OF THE UPPER AND LOWER STEERING SHAFTS CAUSING A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING, A CRASH COULD RESULT WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. |

DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR THE PRESENCE OF THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT BOLT AND ENSURE THAT IT IS TIGHTENED TO THE PROPER SPECIFICATION. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MARCH 20, 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CADILLAC AT 1-800-458-8006. |

03 cadillac cts, so my steering is slightly loose, dont notice unless go around corners with brake aplied or at faster speed. now i found a recall on steering pin/bolt. but when called cadillac dealer. was told my vin did not match any recalls.
how great huh.looks like im going to have to pay for gm s f**k up.

I bought my 2003 Cadillac a few months back then I started noticing fluid leaking from my right from brake line so I got online just to check out the brakes in general and I noticed the recall. I obviously am not the original owner but called my local shop which is Crossroads Chevrolet in Joplin Mo. They ran my vin and said yep its an open recall bring it in and they took care of everything!! Very pleased with their service and help they were great!! Replaced both front brake lines.
