I have a 1998 Cavalier Z-24 that has the defect as describe (Rack and Pinion) and Chevrolet will not fix my car because my VIN number takes it out of the loop??? Like I said,it's a 1998.
So I contacted NHTSA and they give me a case number and tell me to contact my Attorney General. So I guess I'll try our local TV stations and see if they don't mind getting exposure, hopefully on National news. I own 3 other Chevy's, and this will certainly play a big factor in my next car purchase.

Do you drive a 1998 CHEVROLET CAVALIER?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.

Tell us what you think.
