ABRASION FROM CONTACT CAN CAUSE A LEAK IN THE BRAKE PIPE, FUEL PIPE, OR BOTH. A BRAKE FLUID LEAK COULD DISABLE A PORTION OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM, CAUSING LONGER STOPPING DISTANCES. GASOLINE LEAKING FROM A FUEL PIPE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD CAUSE A VEHICLE FIRE. |

I have a 1998 Cavalier Z-24 that has the defect as describe (Rack and Pinion) and Chevrolet will not fix my car because my VIN number takes it out of the loop??? Like I said,it's a 1998.
So I contacted NHTSA and they give me a case number and tell me to contact my Attorney General. So I guess I'll try our local TV stations and see if they don't mind getting exposure,hopefully on National news. I own 3 other Chevy's, and this will certainly play a big factor in my next car purchase.
