Upon deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.

For vehicles that were sold, or are currently registered, in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, owners were notified and the recall began on December 5, 2014. Chrysler did fix my intake valve for fuel.
I do have a problem though with the damage it has left behind from all of that spilled fuel.
I now have a huge rust problem just under the filler valve. Does no one else have this problem

7/10/2012 - DAvid Sanabria
I have a 2005 durango and have a problem with over flow of feul and now it takes about 20 minutes to feul up beacuase the pump turns off every five seconds. I have never recieved a recall about this problem the only recall I have recieved was for the brakes.

5/29/2012 - Allen White
It is very dangerous filling this vehichle especialliy in the summer time, it spits out a large quanity of gas when it is filled every thime whether you fill it slow or fast. What can done about it?

7/12/2011 - macky
my 2005 durango spills gas on me and the ground whenever i fill it all the way up, this is NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Do i have to burn to death or blow up a gas station all because Chrysler doesnt want to assume responsibility for a commom problem regarding their product? I'm not going away quietly until this serious gas problem is rectified. Shame on you Chrysler! Didn't we the "People" bail you out??

5/25/2011 - Nick Kaczmar
My 2005 Durango has the exact same fuel system overflow problem but is not covered by the recall which is unacceptable. I had to pay for the problem to be fixed. All of the Durangos need to recalled for this fire hazard problem.

Do you drive a 2005 DODGE DURANGO?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.
