I have a 1995 Ford Mustang that my daughter bought about a year ago. She was giving a friend of hers a ride to a small town, about 15 miles from home, and back. On the way home, she just turned onto the highway, and was picking up speed, approx. 45 mph, when a large truck passed her from the opposite direction. The hood of her car suddenly came up, and blew off of the car. she stopped her vehicle, and her and her friend picked the top part of her hood out of the ditch, and brought it home. After she got home, I looked at the damage to the car and noticed that the hood bottom was completely intact, and still latched, while the top part had come loose loose from the base. I have two years of college in auto body, and graduated in 1999 From Wahpeton ND. I could see that the adhesive had come loose, and not held. My daughter was lucky that nobody got hurt. Do you drive a 1996 FORD MUSTANG?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.
