I bought my car in 2009 and I am having similar problems to the ones I have read. The other morning my car would turn over but not start, we figured out that it was the security system. So we reset it. Now when I accelerate the car acts as if it is running out of gas. Reading these complaints scares me a little bit. I would like to know what I should do.

Do you drive a 2001 OLDSMOBILE ALERO?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.
