My 2008 Jetta is in recall, might catch fire. dealership knows nothing and says they will not do anything untill I get a letter.
DUMB.

Let me tell you, as an owner of 2010 Jetta TDI with 6sp DSG this car is a an accident waiting to happen.. from the abrupt down shifts to the extreme hesitation (transmission engagement) from a stop. This has hesitation almost killed me and my wife.

Did you know...if you accidently bump the shifter into neutral on the highway, the only way to get it back into Drive is to depress the brakes 1/3 the then it will let you shift into "D". Can you imagine if you had a 18 Wheeler behind you doing 120kn/h...say goodbye.

Just my experience.

Julius

Do you drive a 2010 VW JETTA?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.

Tell us what you think.
