OUR 2000 MONTE CARLO SUPERSPORT WAS PARKED AND HAD BEEN OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES. BEFORE THAT, IT HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES AND PARKED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. SOMEONE CAME IN TO TELL ME IT WAS SMOKING. THERE WAS A GREAT DEAL OF SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WE CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND BEFORE THEY COULD ARRIVE, THE CAR WAS ENGULFED. WHILE IT WAS BURNING, WE COULD HEAR IT TRYING TO START! THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF THE FRONT, ENGINE COMPARTMENT, OR INTERIOR, EXCEPT FOR THE FRAMES. ONLY THE TRUNK AREA AND RIGHT REAR TIRE WERE UNTOUCHED.
