THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE REAR WINDSHIELD SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE REAR DEFROSTER WIRE WAS MELTED AND CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO SHATTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
