THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONED AND FAILED TO DISPLAY THE ACTUAL SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING FOR THE SENSOR THAT WAS CONNECTED TO THE TRANSMISSION BECAME FRACTURED WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
