THE FLOOR SHIFTER IS STUCK IN PARK AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME. THERE IS ACTUALLY A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM (CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION K39 TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER) THAT INCLUDES MY MODEL AND YEAR, BUT NOT MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE. THE VIN NUMBERS OF VEHICLES THAT QUALIFY FOR FREE REPLACEMENT ARE APPARENTLY TOO SELECTIVE, JUDGING BY THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF LIKE VEHICLES THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. WHY LIMIT THE RECALL TO SPECIFIC VIN NUMBERS, WHEN EVEN CHRYSLER HAS IDENTIFIED THAT THERE IS A RANGE OF VEHICLES THAT COULD, AND ACTUALLY ARE INCURRING THE PROBLEM, BUT ARE NOT BEING COVERED?

HELLO, I AM A CURRENT CHRYSLER VEHICLE OWNER AND IÆVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WHERE MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C SRT8 WHICH JUST SHUTS OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS OR TROUBLE CODES REPORTED TO THE CARÆS COMPUTER. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN IÆM DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AND THE CAR WILL JUST STALL OUT. EACH TIME I TAKE MY CAR TO THE AUTO MECHANICS, THEY ARENÆT ABLE TO IDENTIFY ANYTHING WRONG AS THERE ARENÆT ANY CODES DETECTED. MY VEHICLE EVEN STALLED WHILE AT THE MECHANICS SHOP AND THEY STILL WERENÆT ABLE TO ASSIST AS NO CODES WERE TRIGGERED. OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS, IÆVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND COUNTLESS HOURS, STUCK ON MAJOR HIGHS AS WELL AS REPLACING CAR COMPONENTS IN A BIG EFFORT OF TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS CONCERN. TO DATE, I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THESE ANXIETIES. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME INOPERABLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. THE CONTACT HAD TO SHAKE THE LIGHT SWITCH FOR THE AUTOMATIC LIGHTS TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MORE THAN TWENTY TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,502.

UNABLE TO STEER, OR USE THE BREAKS THE CAR STOP IMMEDIATELY CAN NOT GET TO A SAFE PLACE..HAS BEEN TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER FOUR TIME THIS YEAR FOR OTHER RELATED PROBLEMS. BUT CHRYSLER WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. WAS TOLD IT WOULD NOT READ A CODE.IT WAS INTERNAL PROBLEM. FOR 21DAYS THEY KEPT MY CAR WITHOUT REPAIR..SECOND VISIT WAS 9-10 DAYS WITH APPROXIMATELY FIVE DAY WITH THE OWNER MY LATEST STAY WAS 4DAYS. MY CAR DROVE APPROXMATE; 50 MILES BEFORE STALLING AGAIN. FOR THE FIRST TIME I USE ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP OTHER THAN CHRYSLER. THE WORKER SEEM WELL PLEASED WHEN I STATED I WOULD NOT RETURN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I SPOKE WITH THE MANGER AND COULD NOT GET THE PROBLEM SOLVED.

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK, THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY SHIFTER MECHANISM THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE COST WAS $468 AND THE PART ONLINE CAN BE REPAIRED AT NO COST OR REPLACED FOR $15 TO $30. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF THESE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET FOR MORE THAN JUST 2006 300C AUTOS. IF CHRYSLER DOES NOT ADMIT TO THE FLAW WHY DOESN'T THE GOVERNMENT MAKE THEM STEP UP AND REPAIR OR REIMBURSE CONSUMERS WHO WILL NO DOUBT NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLE? THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OR AT LEAST CHRYSLER SHOULD PAY WHEN THE PART FAILS.

STALLED ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS AFTER FILLING THE TANK UP. ALSO WHILE GOING AT LOWER SPEEDS. HASSITATION AND LOST OF POWER AFTERWARDS. SINCE MY LAST FILL UP, THE CAR WON'T START NOW. I READ THAT HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM DUE TO A FLOAT SWELLS UP INTO A STUCK OPEN POSITION, ALLOWING AN OVERFILL CONDITION.
