3/20/2012 - LAKE ARIEL, PA
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STRUTS, BALL JOINTS AND WHEEL HUBS HAD TO BE REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE DESIGNED TO WEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION ALSO FAILED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE CVT PART WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STRUTS, BALL JOINTS AND WHEEL HUBS HAD TO BE REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION, BALL JOINTS, STEERING AND BRAKES WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED DUE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE COULD HEAR NOISES COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS OVER 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY AND ALL OF THE BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,824. UPDATED 02/0812 THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE LOWER LEFT CONTROL ARM AND LOWER RIGHT CONTROL ARM. PURCHASED THE BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL400-02 AFTER 20,000 MILES HAD A FLAT. TOOK THE TIRE BACK TO WHERE PURCHASED AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE ANY REASON FOR THE FLAT AND THE TIRE HAD CRACKS INSIDE THE TIRE AND ALSO ALL THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ANY TREAD LEFT ON THEM. THESE ARE RATED FOR 80,000 MILES AND SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 1/4 OF THE RATED MILEAGE. THESE TIRES ARE DANGEROUS AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL THEM.
