VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

12/19/2014 - GOOSE CREEK, SC
WHILE DRIVING 65MPH ON HIGHWAY 526 IN SC, OUR 2008 CHEVY IMPALA EXPERIENCED REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND A TRACTION CONTROL ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH. THE VEHICLE LOST ENGINE POWER AND MY WIIFE, DAUGHTER AND I WERE ALMOST REAR ENDED . WE HAVE NOW SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TRYING TO REPAIR THE ISSUE BUT WITH NO SOLUTION IN SIGHT.

DURING FREEZING RAIN THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER QUIT OPERATING MAKING VISIBILITY OUT THE REAR WINDOW LITTLE TO NONE. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING, THE PROBLEM CAME FROM A WIRING HARNESS BELOW THE FUSEBOX ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BY THE PASSENGER FOOT AREA. THE WIRE FOR THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER HAD MELTED AT THE POINT INSIDE THE CONNECTOR MELTING THE PLASTIC,AND IS A FIRE HAZARD. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, MANY NEWER CHEVROLET IMPALAS HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS ISSUE, AND IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.

2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA KEY DEFECT. THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HE AND HIS WIFE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THEY PAID FOR THREE KEYS. HOWEVER, G WOULD ONLY FIX TWO OF THE KEYS UNDER THE IGNITION RECALL.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE AND THE REAR PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
