I WAS DRIVING ON ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE TRUCK STARTED TO HESITATED. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO CHANGE HARD. I STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND I NOTICED THAT THE O/D INDICATOR WAS ON. WHEN I STARTED TO MOVE AGAIN, IT SEEMED AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND THE TRANS FAULT INDICATOR CAME ON. THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT CHANGE SMOOTHLY WHEN I DROVE APPROXIMATELY ANOTHER MILE. I PARKED THE TRUCK IN FEAR OF FURTHER DAMAGING THE TRUCK.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,542.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY ON AN INCLINE, THE CONTACT CHANGED GEARS FROM PARK TO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY REVERSED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED DOWN THE STREET AND CRASHED INTO A CAR PORT AS WELL AS PART OF A RESIDENTIAL HOME. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED WHIPLASH AND BRUISING FROM THE IMPACT, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SPECIFY IF THE AIR BAGS HAD DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. A TOW TRUCK TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN TO A WRECKING YARD. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD NOT YET INSPECTED THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER, BUT WAS WAITING FOR BOTH TO FURTHER INVESTIGATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2008 FORD F-150 BACK IN MAY, 2008. WE HAVE ONLY PUT ON IT 27,000 MILES AND HAVE NEVER TOWED ANYTHING WITH IT, WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A TRAILER HITCH ON IT. ON DEC. 10, 2015 THE "TRANS FAULT" LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND THE TRUCK STARTED MAKING LOTS OF NOISE AND JUMPING INTO GEAR WHEN YOU PUT IT IN "DRIVE". WE DROVE TWO MILES TO OUR HOME AND GOT IT IN THE DRIVEWAY. AFTER IT WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY, WE TRIED TO DRIVE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND IT WOULDN'T GOT INTO ANY GEAR, NOT EVEN NEUTRAL SO IT COULDN'T BE MOVED. ON DEC. 11, 2015 WE HAD IT TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHERE WE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION OR HAVE IT REBUILT. WE DECIDED TO GET A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION, IT HAD A BETTER WARRANTY. EVEN THE TRANSMISSION GUY WITH 38 YEARS EXPERIENCE COULDN'T BELIEVE THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 27,000 MILES. I HAD CONTACTED FORD BUT THEY WOULDN'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY AND SAID THAT THERE WEREN'T ANY RECALLS.

WHEN CALLING AUTO PART STORES ABOUT GETTING A REPLACEMENT, THEY HAVE ALL ADVISED THAT THIS YEARS (2008) FORD F-150S ALL HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. ALL STORES SAY IT IS THE DIFFERENTIAL CLUTCH PACKS IN THESE 2008 FORD F-150S BUT FORD WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MALFUNCTION OF THIS PART.

STARTED VEHICLE WITH NO ISSUES, DROVE FROM HOME TO LOCATION APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES AWAY. DURING THE DRIVE, I COULD FEEL A "HESITATION" DURING THE AUTOMATIC SHIFTING OF GEARS. HESITATION SEEMED TO PROGRESS DURING DRIVE TO LOCATION. ARRIVED AT LOCATION WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES. 3 HOURS LATER I LEFT LOCATION, IN ROUTE BACK TO MY HOME, AND NOTICED SAME HESITATION. ON THE WAY HOME THE "TRANS FAULT" CODE CAME ON AND THE "O/D OFF" INDICATOR LIGHT BEGAN BLINKING ON AND OFF. I ARRIVED AT MY HOME WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES. WHILE AT HOME, I ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND IT DID NOT SHIFT FOR ALMOST 3-5 SECONDS, THEN THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO ABRUPTLY SHIFT INTO REVERSE. AT THIS POINT MY VEHICLE IS NOT OPERABLE FOR FEAR OF CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE.

STARTED SHAKING AND SPUTTERING IN REVERSE AT LOW RPM. TWO TRANSMISSION SHOPS SAID IT WAS THE REVERSE BAND IN TRANSMISSION AND NEEDED REBUILD. HAD TRANS REBUILT (AT COST OF 2390.00). AFTER REBUILD, MECHANIC WAS DRIVING AND IT STILL HAD PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCHING, HE THINKS IT IS THE CAM PHASERS CAUSING PROBLEM. HE HAD REPLACED MY PLUGS BEFORE TRANSMISSION WORK TO RULE THAT OUT (ALL 8 OF THE PLUGS BROKE WHILE TAKING THEM OUT, HE HAD NEVER SEEN ALL BREAK ON A F150 BEFORE). THIS ENGINE/TRANSMISSION IS A BAD DESIGN ALL AROUND AND FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP, ADMIT IT AND FIX AND OR REIMBURSE CUSTOMERS FOR REPAIRS. YOU CAN SPEND THOUSANDS CHASING PROBLEMS IN THIS POWER TRAIN! EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION REBUILD DID NOT FIX THE INITIAL PROBLEM, THE REAR BAND WAS WORN, AND THE PLATE IN THE TRANSMISSION HAD A SMALL DENT AND HAIR LINE CRACKS, SO IT WAS GOING TO FAIL EVENTUALLY! THE TRANSMISSION SHOP SAID THIS IS COMMON IN THESE. I WANT SOMETHING DONE!

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE STEERING ISSUE IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AND ALL THE MECHANICS AT FORD SAY IT SHOULD BE A RECALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE SPARK PLUGS CAN'T BE REMOVED WITHOUT BREAKING OFF AND FORD IS TOTALLY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. MY TRUCK STEERING ...I WAS TOLD A PART NEEDS TO BE REPLACED THAT HAPPENS TO ALL THESE TRUCKS...IT IS AT LEAST $1300.00...AND WHEN I ASKED FOR A TUNEUP AND WAS TOLD BECAUSE THE SPARK PLUGS BREAK OFF IT CAN BE OVER 800.00...I WAS ASTONISHED THAT WITH ALL THE TROUBLE WITH GM RECALLS YOU WOULD NOT TARGET THIS 2008 FORD F-150...THERE ARE MULTIPLE MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. WE BOUGHT OUR F150 5.4 IN JULY OF 2008. IN LATE AUGUST I NOTICED A SLIGHT VIBRATION UNDER MY FEET. THE VIBRATION CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO A MY FORD DEALERSHIP FOR ALL MAINTENANCE AND EACH TIME I HAVE REPORTED THE VIBRATION. IN JULY OF 2011 I REPLACED THE TIRES AFTER THEY STATED IT WAS THE TIRES. THAT DID NOTHING TO FIX THE VIBRATION. THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO ROTATE AND BALANCE THE TIRES BUT I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. WHICH IS WEARING OUT MY TIRES. I OVERHEARD THE MECHANIC TALKING TO THE MGR. OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HE TOLD HIM TO BILL IT AS A RECALL BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED. ALSO IN APRIL THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS THAT IT MAY TAKE WEEKS TO FIND IT AT MY COST BECAUSE FORD WOULD PROBLEM NOT PAY FOR IT. I DON'T THINK THIS IS FARE. IT WAS A BRAND NEW TRUCK. WHAT IF SOMETHING BREAKS WHILE I'M DRIVING 50 MPH IN THE TRAFFIC.

I BOUGHT MY FORD TRUCK USED IN APRIL 2012 WITH 33000 MILES. ABOUT A MONTH LATER I NOTICED THAT WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP, THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP. IT HAS SINCE GOTTEN ALOT WORSE. NOW THE ENGINE HAS STARTED TO OVERPOWER THE BRAKES. I FIND THAT WHEN THE ENGINE STARTS TO REV, IF I LET OFF THE BRAKE AND REBRAKE IT WILL DROP THE RPM'S BACK DOWN. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION. THE RPM'S SHOT UP, AND TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. IT WAS AS IF IT HAD SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL. HAD TO PULL OVER ON SIDE OF HIGHWAY, AND TURN THE TRUCK OFF. THIS SEEMED TO RESET THE ISSUE FOR THE TIME BEING. HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES. TOOK IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS. THE FIRST ONE CLEANED THE MAF SENSOR. THE SECOND DEALERSHIP FLUSHED THE TRANNY AND REPROGRAMMED THE TRUCK. NONE OF THESE SOLUTIONS HAVE WORKED. IT HAPPENED AGAIN THIS WEEK WITH MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT ONTO SHOULDER BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED. HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT AT DEALERSHIP TOMORROW MORNING. THIS IS DANGEROUS!

ABOUT 20 YARDS TO STOP SIGN TO HIGHWAY I WAS GOING ABOUT 5 MPH AND I LIFTED RIGHT FOOT OFF OF GAS PEDAL TO APPLY BRAKE. THE TRUCK SLOWLY STARTED TO SPEED UP. I APPLIED THE BRAKE WITH ONE FOOT AND THE TRUCK STARTED TO APPLY MORE GAS UNTIL I HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE AND PUSHING AS HARD AS POSSIBLE AND IT WAS PUSHING ME TOWARD THE HIGHWAY IN FRONT OF A ONCOMING CAR. THE BACK TIRES STARTED TO SPIN. I PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL THE ENGINE REVVED TO AROUND 6-1/2 RPM BEFORE I COULD TURN THE SWITCH OFF. I SIT THERE FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS WITH ENGINE OFF THEN RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND IT WAS OK.. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON 7/18/2011 WITH A FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE TRUCK LOOKED AT. I HAVE LOOKED OVER YOUR WEB SITE AND THERE HAS BEEN MANY OTHER F 150 TRUCKS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IT SEEMS AS MINE. LUCKILY IT DID NOT DAMAGE THE OTHER VEHICLE ( WHICH WAS A BIG SUV ) BUT IT DID $2,000.00 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO MY TRUCK!! I TOOK THE TRUCK INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I CONTACTED FORD'S COMPLAINT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS.THEY DENIED MY REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER AS THEY CLAIM THEIR ANALYSIS DOES NOT INDICATE ANY EVIDENCE OF A MANUFACTURING OR DESIGN DEFECT. I WENT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY TRUCK TO TRY TO TRADE IN MY TRUCK FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE. DESPITE THE FACT THAT I HAVE BOUGHT 7 FORD TRUCKS IN THE PAST - 6 OF THEM AT THIS PARTICULAR DEALERSHIP , THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH ME ON A DEAL FOR TRADING IN MY TRUCK. THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD GOTTEN 47,000 MILES OUT OF MY TRUCK BEFORE THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED , AND THAT I COULD PROBABLY GET ANOTHER 47,000 MILES OUT OF IT BEFORE IT DOES IT AGAIN!!! THEN 28 DAYS AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE - MY TRUCK DID IT AGAIN!!!! THIS TIME I WAS IN TRAFFIC IN THE PROCESS OF STOPPING MY TRUCK FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I HAD JUST TAKEN MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKES ( MY FOOT WAS STILL RESTING ON TOP OF THE BRAKES ) AND I WAS COASTING TO A STOP. SUDDENLY THE TRUCK JUST SPEEDED UP OUT OF CONTROL !!! I APPLIED THE BRAKES , AND AGAIN THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP!!!! I QUICKLY THREW THE GEAR IN NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF THE KEY. AS SOON AS I DID THIS, THE BRAKES SKIDDED ON AND MY TRUCK JUST BARELY STOPPED BEFORE HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME!! I AM IN CONSTANT FEAR OF THIS OCCURRING AGAIN!!! BOTH TIMES I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AT A VERY SLOW SPEED ( LESS THAN 10 MPH ) BUT WHAT IF IT HAPPENS WHEN I'M ON THE FREEWAY TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS. THIS IS LIFE THREATENING.

ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2, 2011 THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL ON MY 2008 FORD F150 TRUCK BLEW APART WHILE BACKING UP ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET IN NASHUA, NH. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND THE TRUCK SLAMMED TO A STOP. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO BEST FORD ON AMHERST ST., NASHUA, NH. APPARENTLY A ROD BROKE IN HALF AND RICOCHETED IN THE HOUSING DAMAGING THE GEAR SHAFT AND SLICING A GASH IN THE DIFFERENTIAL CAP. I WAS ON A QUIET STREET WITH LITTLE TRAFFIC. HAD THIS OCCURRED ON A BUSY STREET OR HIGHWAY, IT WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE DAMAGED PARTS IF THEY ARE NEEDED.

THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE ARE SO CLOSE TOGETHER ON MY 2008 FORD F150 THAT I HAVE ON OCCASION ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED BOTH THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS AT THE SAME TIME WHILE BRAKING. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THE ENGINE WAS REVVING UP AS I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKE, SO I APPLIED THE BRAKE HARDER AND THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV HIGHER UNTIL THE TRUCK LURCHED FORWARD. THIS CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISE AND MY FOOT CAME OFF THE BRAKE AND THE ENGINE REVVED DOWN. I REALIZED THAT MY FOOT HAD BEEN ON THE ACCELERATOR THE SAME TIME IT WAS ON THE BRAKE. SINCE THAT FIRST TIME, I KNOW THAT IF THE ENGINE STARTS REVVING WHILE I AM APPLYING THE BRAKE THAT I HAVE MY FOOT ON BOTH AND CAN ANGLE MY FOOT TO THE LEFT TO REMOVE IT FROM THE ACCELERATOR WHILE STILL KEEPING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. EVEN SO, ONE TIME I JUST MISSED HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHILE "STOPPING". THIS SEEMS TO ME TO BE A DANGEROUS DESIGN. WHEN THE ENGINE BEGINS REVVING FOR "NO APPARENT REASON" ONE TENDS TO PANIC AND STEPS HARDER ON THE BRAKE WHICH MAKES THE PROBLEM WORSE. I THINK THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM.

2008 BRAND NEW F150 TRUCK - 5,000 MILES AND THE STARTER WOULDN'T ENGAGE THE FLYWHEEL.. STARTER GEAR SHAFT SHEARED COMPLETELY THROUGH. THE MECHANICS AT VISTA FORD/WOODLAND HILLS WERE BAFFLED BY THIS. THE STARTER GEAR SHAFT SHEARED COMPLETELY THROUGH AND THE ENGINE WAS NOT SEIZED SO THERE IS NO REASON FOR THAT TO HAPPEN. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AS THE MECHANICS CHECKED THE TEETH IN THE FLYWHEEL AND TURNED IT BY HAND THEY WERE ABLE TO INSPECT THE FLYWHEEL AND FOUND EVERY TOOTH TO BE PERFECTLY IN TACT AND THE TEETH ON THE STARTER GEAR ITSELF WERE ALSO PERFECTLY IN TACT. THE ONLY DAMAGE WAS TO THE STARTING GEAR SHAFT BUT NOW I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR SAFETY AND WHAT CAUSED IT?

HOWEVER, THE DEALER REPLACED THE DRIVESHAFT AND UNIVERSAL JOINTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AND FOUR NEW TIRES WERE MOUNTED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER FOR NINE WEEKS, BUT THE FAILURES PERSIST. MY VEHICLE IS A 2008 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW. THIS HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. AFTER ABOUT 1000 MILES I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE APPEARED TO STALL WHEN ACCELERATING UPHIILL (CHANGING GEARS) AND THAT THE RPM'S WOULD REV DURING CITY DRIVING. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND I HAD TO GO TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEVERAL TIMES TO ATTEMPT TO PROVE THE ISSUE EXIST. AFTER IT WAS DISCOVERED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TORE DOWN THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED PARTS AND THIS DID NOT RESOLVE IT. A MONTH LATER FORD ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE EXISTED AND AS DEALERS TO HOLD OFF ON REPAIR ATTEMPTS UNTIL ENGINEERING DID MRE RESEARCH. I HAVE A COPY OF THIS FROM THE OASIS ON MY VEHICLE. A MONTH LATER THE ATTEMPTED A DOWNLOAD OF INFORMATION TO UNIT. THIS IMPROVED THE PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER ABOUT 5 MONTHS THE ISSUES SLOWLY STARTED TO SHOW THEMSELVES AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE TO GET THIS RESOLVED. EACH TIME I HAVE GONE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR CODES AND THE PROBLEM IS NOT PRODUCING ANY CODES. I AM ONCE AGAIN AT THIS TIME TAKING MY VEHICLE IN REPEATEDLY AND HOPING THAT ON THAT DAY SOMEONE WILL EXPERIENCE THE SAME THINGS WHICH I AM SPEAKING OF, JUST LIKE THEY DID IN THE BEGINNING OF THIS PROBLEM.

THE ENGINE WAS RACING WITH HIGH RPM'S. RESTARTING ENGINE RESOLVED ISSUE OR PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH A/C VENTILATION. TEMPERATURE VARIES FROM COOL TO HOT WHEN DIAL IS SET TO MOSTLY COOL AIR FLOW, REQUIRING CONSTANT ADJUSTING. TRUCK HAS BEEN TO DEALER 3 TIMES AND AM TOLD THEY CAN'T FIX IT UNLESS THEY EXPERIENCE IT THEMSELVES.

WHEN RESTARTED, WHEN PREPARING TO ENTER ROAD, THE ENGINE ACCELERATED TO ABOUT 4,000 RPMS WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT IDLE. BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. HAD TO QUICKLY PUT TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL TO AVOID TRUCK MOVING INTO THE ROAD AND HITTING OTHER VEHICLES. THIS RECURRED 4 OR FIVE TIMES WHEN STOPPING AT STOP LIGHT, STOP SIGN AND STOPPING AT MOTEL. THE NEXT MORNING THIS RECURRED WHEN STOPPING AT MOTEL OFFICE. DID NOT REOCCUR. TOOK TRUCK INTO DEALER AND THEY ARE INSPECTING FOR PROBLEMS.

I HAVE A 2008 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT I BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND IT HAS ABOUT 4,000 MILES ON IT NOW. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY ALL THE TIME. ON ABOUT 12 TO 15 OCCASIONS THE TRANSMISSION HAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WHEN I AM TRAVELING BETWEEN 15 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND I AM COASTING AROUND A CURVE, DOWN A HILL, OR AROUND AN ON OR OFF RAMP, WHILE COASTING AT A SPEED BETWEEN 15 TO 30 MILES PER HOUR. AFTER COASTING FOR A FEW SECONDS AND I ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE IS WHEN I REALIZE THE TRUCK IS IN NEUTRAL BECAUSE THE RPMS GO UP AND THE TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL THE TRUCK WILL THEN SLAM INTO GEAR. I HAVE TAKEN MY FORD BACK TO THE DEALER TWO TIMES TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT FIX IT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT GETS WORSE AND THEN BRING IT BACK. I DID NOT REALIZE JUST HOW MUCH DANGER THEY WERE PUTTING ME IN UNTIL APRIL 1, 2008 BECAUSE THE TRUCK HAD NOT EVER SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WHILE I WAS COASTING AROUND AN OFF RAMP AND ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. ON APRIL 1ST I WAS TRAVELING AROUND AN OFF RAMP FROM A MAJOR HIGHWAY TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AND MERGE INTO TRAFFIC AND TO MY SURPRISE THE TRUCK WAS IN NEUTRAL. A CAR ALMOST RAN INTO THE BACK OF MY TRUCK BEFORE MY TRUCK SLAMMED INTO GEAR AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THIS BRAND NEW TRUCK DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY AND FORD DOES NOT THINK IT IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO INVESTIGATE MORE AND TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTER AND THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT FIX IT UNTIL IT HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY AND THEN THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE OCCURRENCE. THE TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND COULD CAUSE ME OR MY WIFE AND CHILDREN TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT.
