TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC SOLSTICE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V061000 (AIR BAGS). THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REMEDY WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC SOLSTICE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V061000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000. AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ON DURING INITIAL STARTING SEQUENCE AND NEVER EXTINGUISHES. I HAVE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE FAULT ON MY DRIVE INFORMATION CONTROL (DIC) IN ORDER TO SELECT OTHER OPTIONS. THE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON NOW FOR TWO MONTHS. NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE.

PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR FAILED. GM ISSUED NO RECALL, YET DID SO FOR A KNOWN FAULTY SENSOR IN A CADILLAC MODEL. SAFETY IS NEVER OUT OF WARRANTY, YET GM REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE IN MINE, AND OTHER MODEL YEARS OF THE GM SOLSTICE AND SKY.
