THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS THE SRS WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO NOTICED THAT THE SRS AIR BAG SPIRAL CABLE WAS FAULTY. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE DEFECT COULD SUSPEND THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT DURING A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
