TL CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA PRIUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND TRYING TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, SHE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. SHE WOULD APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THEY WOULD LOCK FOR A FEW SECONDS. SHE NOTICED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED 5 TO 6 TIMES. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO HAVE THE BRAKING SYSTEM LOCK FOR 3 SECONDS WHEN THEY ARE ENGAGED FORCEFULLY; AFTERWARDS THE DRIVER HAD PRESS THE PEDAL AGAIN TO RELEASE THE LOCKED POSITION. SHE HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER TO-DATE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,600. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,500.
