7/11/2016 - LUMBERTON, NJ
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AS AN ABNORMAL SQUEALING SOUND EMITTED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

STEERING

7/7/2016 - MORNING SUN, IA
I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR POWER STEERING ISSUE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE POWER STEERING ISSUE AND WAS COVERED UNDER A "SPECIAL POLICY". WHEN I PICK UP MY VEHICLE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE. MY HUSBAND CALLED THE DEALER AND WE TOOK THE CAR BACK. THEY ALIGNED THE VEHICLE. STILL SAME ISSUE. AFTER OVER A WEEK THE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE "GEAR" OR "WRACK". THERE IS A SPECIAL AMENDMENT TO THE SPECIAL POLICY BUT, APPARENTLY MY CAR DIDN'T QUALIFY. NOT SURE WHY? MY CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED AND TAKEN CARE OF. THIS IS A NONE ISSUE WITH GM AND WE ARE CURRENTLY FIGHTING WITH THEM THAT THEY SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE GEAR. GM WRITES SPECIAL POLICIES FOR THE CHEAP REPAIRS BUT, WHEN IT COMES TO A MAJOR ISSUE THAT WAS NO FAULT OF MINE THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME AN ARM AND A LEG. I FIND IT RIDICULOUS THAT CONSUMERS CAN BE TREATED IN THIS WAY. I HAVE STARTED WRITING MY COMPLAINTS SINCE TRYING TO DEAL WITH GM HAS BECOME UNREASONABLE. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! KERRI WILKERSON P.S. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL

7/1/2016 - ABILENE, TX
I PURCHASED THIS 2011 CHEVY TRAVERSE IN FEB. OF 2015, SO I BELIEVED IT TO BE A FAIRLY NEW CAR IN GOOD SHAPE. NOT EVEN A MONTH LATER THE GAS HAND BECOMES FAULTY AND IS NOT SHOWING THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF GAS, AND STARTS FLUCTUATING. NEXT I'M RIDING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY STARTS SLOWING DOWN AND READS LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AND SHUTS OFF RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY. NOW I AM FREAKING OUT WITH ME AND MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND OTHERS FLYING AROUND ME DOING 75 TO 80 MPH TO MY DECREASING SPEED. I WAS SCARED FOR MY LIFE AND MY CHILDREN'S LIVES AS CARS AND TRUCKS ARE SPEEDING AROUND AND HONKING AT ME. THE TRUCK DIES AND I BARELY MANAGE TO GET TO THE SIDE SO THAT I WOULD NOT BE HIT. I THEN GET THE CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO THEN SAYS THAT THE TRUCK NEEDS A WATER PUMP WHICH TURNS OUT TO BE UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY ALSO RESET MY FUEL SENSOR BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY TESTED IT AND IT WAS STILL GOOD. SO IT ONLY COST ME $100.00. I PICK MY TRUCK UP AND IT WORKS FINE FOR LESS THAN A MONTH AND STARTS UP AGAIN. I RUN OUT OF GAS ON A BUSY STREET AND GET ANOTHER TOW. BACK TO THE CHEVROLET HOUSE IT GOES. THIS TIME THEY RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SAYS ITS STILL NOT THE FUEL PUMP, SENSOR, OR ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING AT ALL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

4/21/2016 - MT PLEASANT, SC
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE KEY FOB WAS UTILIZED TO OPEN THE REAR LIFTGATE. WHEN THE CONTACT REACHED INSIDE THE VEHICLE, THE LIFTGATE FELL ON HER NECK. THE CONTACT DID NOT GO TO THE HOSPITAL. THE CONTACT HAD TO GO TO THE DOCTOR BECAUSE THERE WAS A LUMP ON HER NECK A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A DISLOCATED COLLAR BONE THAT REQUIRED SURGERY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
