10/30/2014 - BATCHELOR, LA
HAVE HAD TWO INCIDENTS WHERE THE STABILITY TRACK HAS COME ON AND HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURN VEHICLE OFF WAIT 10 MINUTES AND RESTART AND FINALLY IT GOES OFF. THE LAST INCIDENT WAS I WAS DRIVING THE LIGHT COMES ON SAYING ENGINE POWER REDUCING AND IT DROPS SPEED DOWN TO WHERE I HAVE TO PULL OVER NOT TO GET HIT. I PULL OVER TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND IT STARTS BUT REDUCES POWER AGAIN AND TURNS ITSELF OFF THIS HAPPENS ABOUT THREE TIMES BEFORE I GIVE UP. I THEN HAVE TO CALL A TOW TRUCK WHEN THEY ARRIVE AND TRIES TO START IT IT DOES START NOW. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS VEHICLE FOR 6 MONTHS.

10/21/2014 - WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, NM
THIS IS REGARDING THE HANDLING OF THE SAFETY RECALLS THAT CHEVY HAS ISSUED. WE WERE ADVISED TO BRING OUR VEHICLE IN FOR NO CHARGE REPLACEMENT ON PARTS. AFTER BRINGING THE SUV IN AND WAITING OVER AN HOUR I WAS ADVISED THE PARTS HAD TO BE ORDERED AND WOULD RECEIVE A CALL AS SOON AS THEY WERE IN. 5 WEEKS LATER, STILL NO CALL. I CALLED AND WAS ADVISED THE PARTS WERE IN. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY WE DIDN'T RECEIVE A CALL AS SOON AS THE PARTS WERE IN, AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WE HAVE A 1 YEAR OLD WHO RIDES IN THIS VEHICLE. BROUGHT THE SUV IN TO BE REPAIRED, WAS ADVISED 3 HOURS. AFTER 9HOURS WITH NO CALL, WE CALLED. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE PARTS THAT CAME IN WERE DEFECTIVE AND THEY NEEDED TO ORDER NEW PARTS. IT SHOULD BE KNOWN AND INVESTIGATED AS TO WHAT SERVICE CHEVY IS DOING ON RECALLS THAT ARE A SAFETY ISSUE, THE NEW PARTS ARE DEFECTIVE ALSO! I CALLED CHEVY AND FILED A COMPLAINT REGARDING THIS DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE.

10/15/2014 - SAN ANTONIO, TX
IN LATE APRIL OF THIS YEAR, DRIVER AND FRONT SEAT PASSENGER IN 2011 TRAVERSE WERE HIT HEAD ON BY ANOTHER DRIVER. THE FRONT IMPACT WAS DISTRIBUTED RELATIVELY EVENLY TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE, WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE SUSTAINING SLIGHTLY GREATER DAMAGE. BOTH FRONT-SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. ALTHOUGH TWO INDIVIDUALS WERE INJURED IN THE CRASH, THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANTLY MORE INJURES, WAS LIFE FLIGHTED TO HOSPITAL WHERE SHE ULTIMATELY HAD TO HAVE HER SPEEN REMOVED, AMONG SUSTAINING OTHER INJURIES. I SUSPECT THIS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG SENSOR, MECHANISM OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, OR OTHER CURRENTLY UNKNOWN DEFECT.

WHILE BACKING UP AT A VERY LOW SPEED THE VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, I THEN REALIZED THE ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF. I NOTED THE KEY WAS STILL IN THE ON POSITION AND THE BACK UP CAMERA WAS STILL ON. RESTARTED VEHICLE AND NO FURTHER PROBLEMS WERE NOTICED. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DUPLICATE THIS ISSUE THE ONLY TIME I COULD GET THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP WAS IF THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. ALSO BACK UP CAMERA WOULD ONLY STAY ON IF THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND IN REVERSE SO IT IS UNCLEAR WHY THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WITH THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENED UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES.

ALSO BACK UP CAMERA WOULD ONLY STAY ON IF THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND IN REVERSE SO IT IS UNCLEAR WHY THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WITH THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENED UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES.
