THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND BEGAN TO VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE AT LOW SPEEDS EVEN THOUGH PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND INSTALLED A HEAT SHIELD. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A BUILD UP OF MOISTURE IN THE INTERCOOLER. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIRS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
