WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOOSE POWER AND MISFIRE. THE VEHICLE ENTERED "LIMP HOME" MODE, NOTED BY A FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND SIMPLY HAD THE ERROR CODES CLEARED. SIMILAR INCIDENT OCCURRED FEW MONTHS LATER AND THE VEHICLE UNDERWENT RECOMMENDED REPAIR/UPGRADE PER FORD TSB INCLUDING INTERCOOLER COVER AND REFLASH OF COMPUTER. FOR PAST WEEK VEHICLE HAS HAD PERSISTENT POWER LOSS AND "SHUTTERING" DURING ACCELERATION. THIS NOT ONLY LIMITS THE DRIVABILITY OF THE VEHICLE, IT ALSO ENDANGERS THE OCCUPANTS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC AND CROSSING INTERSECTIONS. THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THERE SEEMS TO BE NO EFFORT TO FIND A "COMPLETE AND LASTING" SOLUTION.
