THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHEN THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER WAS TURNED ON. THE DEFOGGER LIGHT WENT OFF. THE CONTACT CALLED THE FREDERICK MOTOR COMPANY (800-734-9118, 1 WAVERLEY DR., FREDERICK, MD, 21702) AND THE TECHNICIAN REFERRED THE CONTACT TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO GLASS SHOP. HOWEVER, THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BUT NO DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE, STATING THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000.
