THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. AFTER TURNING ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, A LOUD BANGING SOUND WAS HEARD. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED A DAY AFTER FREEZING RAIN WAS PRESENT IN THE AREA. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (WEHR FORD IN MARSHFIELD, MO) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, BUT THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF THE RISK OF AN INJURY DUE TO THE SHATTERED GLASS. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
