1/30/2015 - EWA BEACH, HI
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 50 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ME PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED, THEN THE VEHICLE START TO SHUDDER REAL BAD. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT, AND THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARED FOR ABOUT A WEEK, THEN IT OCCURRED AGAIN WITH THE SAME EFFECTS.

2014 F-150. PURCHASED NEW, SUNROOF IS OEM NOT AFTERMARKET. SUNROOF EXPLODED ON HIGHWAY. NO ROCKS OR EVIDANCE OF ANY OUTSIDE FORCE. OUTDOOR TEMP ~68F. SPEED AT TIME OF PROBLEM APPROXIMATELY 55MPH. ON HWY I-880 AT HWY 237 EXIT. DEFECTIVE GLASS IS BELIEVED TO BE THE PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. DURING THE CRASH, THE HOOD OPENED AND SMASHED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AND INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO THE NECK AND LACERATIONS TO THE HEAD AND BOTH HANDS THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. DJR
