RECALL FOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM : IGNITION

THE POSITIVE WIRE CONNECTED TO POST #1 ON THE STARTER SOLENOID COULD CONTACT THE GROUND WIRE ON THE SOLENOID (POST #2) AND CREATE A SHORT CIRCUIT.

Description THE POSITIVE WIRE CONNECTED TO POST #1 ON THE STARTER SOLENOID COULD CONTACT THE GROUND WIRE ON THE SOLENOID (POST #2) AND CREATE A SHORT CIRCUIT.
Consequences THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A SHORT CIRCUIT AND RESULT IN A POSSIBLE FIRE.
Corrective action DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE CABLES CHANGING THE CABLE POSITION.
Notes SYSTEM: ELECTRICAL; IGNITION. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRANSIT BUSES. OWNER NOTIFICATION: OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN IN JUNE 1996. NOTE: OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT PREVOST AT 1-418-883-3391.
