I have a 2005 Mercury Montego. It does exactly what others are saying. The transmission will buck when you slow down or speed up. It started around 45,000 miles. Ford knows there is a problem but will not recall so far. I pray they do before any people end up hurt as a result. I can not afford a new transmission and I guess they cant afford them either. I will not buy a ford again untill they resolve the problem which may be never???

Do you drive a 2005 MERCURY MONTEGO?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.
