RECALL FOR FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE : STORAGE : TANK ASSEMBLY : MOUNTING

THE LEFT SIDE FUEL TANK SUPPORT COULD BECOME RUSTY IF VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN AREAS WHERE SALT IS USED FOR SNOW REMOVAL. SUPPORT MAY RUST ENTIRELY THROUGH, ALLOWING TANK TO TILT DOWN ON THE LEFT SIDE.

Description THE LEFT SIDE FUEL TANK SUPPORT COULD BECOME RUSTY IF VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN AREAS WHERE SALT IS USED FOR SNOW REMOVAL. SUPPORT MAY RUST ENTIRELY THROUGH, ALLOWING TANK TO TILT DOWN ON THE LEFT SIDE.
Consequences
Corrective action UPON INSPECTION, CORRODED SUPPORT BRACKETS WILL BE REPLACED WITH REINFORCEMENT AND U-SHAPED BRACKETS.
Notes VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES.SYSTEM: FUEL; FUEL TANK SUPPORT.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: SLIPPAGE OF THE TANK COULD RESULT IN FUEL LEAKAGE,POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE, AND PERSONAL INJURY.
