I purchased a new Bonneville SE in July of 1996 in Waconia, MN for my wife. We still own this car with 95K miles on it and still get excellent service from it getting. The vehicle is red with tan leather interior, center divider shifter, and rear deck lid spoiler. This was listed as a sports package of some kind on the original invoice.

As with most vehicles we've had a few problems that were taken care of by the dealership under warrantee. However, with the origianal warrantee a distant memory we've started having a few unexpected problems recently. This includes an oil pan leak, unexpected security system lock out activation, and interior lights that won't turn off for the first 10 minutes of operation. Other little issues are that the plastic for the rear light casing and interior seem to be decomposing (becoming brittle and cracking) despite this vehicle being garaged most of it's life.

The vehicle is serviced regularly and runs strong getting

Do you drive a 1996 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE?

Just because a car has been recalled does not mean it is not a reliable car. Millions of cars get recalled every year. Recalls often involve problems that are rare but could cause a serious problem if they occur. So the risk to any given driver is often remote, even though there may be a few high-profile incidents traced to the problem.
