RECALL FOR VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

FRICTION BETWEEN THE ACCELERAT0R LEVER AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MODULATOR LEVER CAN RESULT IN INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO LEVERS WHICH COULD PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM FULLY RETURNING TO IDLE.

Description FRICTION BETWEEN THE ACCELERAT0R LEVER AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MODULATOR LEVER CAN RESULT IN INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO LEVERS WHICH COULD PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM FULLY RETURNING TO IDLE.
Consequences THIS INTERFERENCE CAN PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM FULLY RETURNING TO IDLE AND COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.
Corrective action DEALERS WILL INSTALL A REVISED MODULATOR LEVER ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES.
