RECALL FOR FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL : STORAGE : TANK ASSEMBLY

ON CERTAIN DIESEL POWERED HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS, THE BOLTS ATTACHING THE FUEL TANK MOUNTING BRACKETS TO THE FRAME MAY HAVE INSUFFICIENT TORQUE AND THEREFORE MAY RESULT IN PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE FUEL TANK MOUNTING.

Description ON CERTAIN DIESEL POWERED HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS, THE BOLTS ATTACHING THE FUEL TANK MOUNTING BRACKETS TO THE FRAME MAY HAVE INSUFFICIENT TORQUE AND THEREFORE MAY RESULT IN PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE FUEL TANK MOUNTING.
Consequences IF THE FUEL TANK FALLS, THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR THE TANK TO IGNITE, RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY, VEHICLE AND PROPERTY DAMAGE.
Corrective action DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE FUEL TANK BRACKET MOUNTING BOLTS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 6, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MACK TRUCKS AT 1-800-528-6586.
