THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 MERCEDES-BENZ E320. THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE STATUTE TO RECEIVE AN EXTENDED SERVICE CAMPAIGN EXPIRED; THEREFORE, THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V133000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
