Upon using with my infant the chest clip fell apart. Making it unsafe to use and posing a choking hazard as all the little pieces and magnetic pieces that fell out. The seat also does not securely stay in place in the base. I reached out to the company and they did not seem to care that this chest clip is unsafe and the seat in general. I had maybe used clip1-3 times my daughter only used seat a trip or so I can’t recall if it was our initial trip with seat or if it was one or two in. It was right away though like day or so into using the seat. We initially thought if we just got a regular clip from manufacturer could use seat but realized once we got that and tried to put it together on it that there was also a base issue. So seat has not been used again. Want to make sure that other parents don’t end up with this seat and safety issue. The clip fell apart upon getting child out of seat. If this would have happened in crash or when I wasn’t right there to gather pieces away from my infant this could have been deadly car seat issue. The date is approx that this happened as I would have to dig to find actual date. I didn’t realize I could file complaint until today when I saw a news article on recalls for a child safety seat. This is a known safety issue with this seat many people shared this happened to them as well. So it is very alarming this seat and other brands are making this magnetic chest clips the new standard. Please look into these! Our babies deserve safe car seats.

During normal use while buckling my child into the Chicco Fit360 car seat, the magnetic chest clip fell apart. The housing separated and exposed the internal springs and other components. There is no visible cracking or broken plastic, and the car seat has never been involved in a crash or otherwise misused. Because the chest clip is a safety-critical component of the child restraint system, I stopped using the car seat after the failure. I contacted Chicco through its customer-service website on August 7, 2026 to report the failure and request assistance. I provided photos and the car seat's identifying information. As of August 18, 2026, I have not received a response from Chicco.

While uninstalling a Chicco Fit360 ClearTex rotating convertible car seat, we discovered that the load-bearing webbing connecting the car seat base to a lower-anchor connector had completely separated. The car seat had not been involved in any crash or impact, and nothing struck or contacted the seat during removal. The separation was not visible during normal use. The seat had become loose, but we did not know that the lower-anchor webbing itself had failed. Because this webbing secured the base to the vehicle’s lower anchor, the failure severely compromised the installation while our child had been riding in the seat. In a collision, the restraint might not have remained secured to the vehicle. The car seat has been removed from use. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurer, or another party. The seat, separated webbing, photographs, and video have been preserved and are available for inspection upon request. We purchased two identical seats and are concerned that other units may experience the same safety-critical failure. We request investigation as a potential safety defect.

Last week I took the cover off our car seat to wash and the foam on the headrest was cracked all the way through. I have no idea when this happened or even how it could have. This car seat is barely 2 years old. I’ve never been in an accident or dropped this seat, and it is not used improperly.

The camlock cover broke with no trauma to the car seat (not dropped, checked on an airplane, in a crash etc). When the RF [XXX] old pulled the harness adjuster strap towards him, it depressed the camlock cover and released the straps. He was able to get out of the straps while the vehicle was moving. The car was pulled over safely asap, he was reharnessed, and the adjuster strap was tucked out of his reach. The manufacturer was contacted and they are sending me a replacement seat. Foam is breaking off of the shell. Reached out to Chicco and issue was not resolved nor replaced. This seems to be a reoccurring problem with this car seat. For it to have an 8 year lifespan, it hardly lasts 2 years before Chicco deems it unsafe and needs replaced on my dime. Highly frustrated about this product.

This is the second chest clip I’ve had on the seat (replaced by chicco November of 2024) where the buttons that release the the magnetic chest clip get stuck when pressed. This stops it from being able to be clipped back together until some time passes and it slowly goes back the the original postion in order to re-engage. Then today I went to unbuckle my child from the seat and the chest clip popped open without me pressing the buttons. I have contacted chicco for a replacement.

The contact owns a Chico Car Seat, Model Type: Fit 360, Model Number: 08087216240070, Manufactured Date: December 2025, and used in a 2025 Kia Carnival. The contact stated that the magnetic chest clip failed to remain closed as needed. The manufacturer was contacted and provided a replacement chest clip. The manufacturer stated that the chest clip operated as designed and was designed to come apart. The contact was concerned that the replacement chest clip was defective, and in the event of crash the car seat would not perform as intended. The contact requested a nonmagnetic chest clip from the manufacturer.

I have a Chicco Keyfit travel system. My infant is 1 year old and can independently open the chest buckle of the car seat while strapped in. This happened several times. My infant is under the weight and height limit for the product. This product appears defective. Please contact if you need a video (it is 25 megabytes and wont fit in your form).

After extended use, the magnetic chest clip can pop open without depressing the buttons to unlatch the clip. Slight pressure behind the clip, where the child’s chest rests can pop open the chest clip. This means, if an accident were to occur, the child will fail to be restrained and can fly out of the seat buckle.
