the General Grabber HTS 255/70 R17 off a 2026 Chevy 1500 truck from factory with only 17k miles, has had multiple leaks from what appear to be the rubber itself cracking and no objects seem to be making the punctures. (this tire itself the main reason for this report has been repaired 4 times and now has its 5th leak) but at least 1 or more repairs have been made for 3 of the 4 tires as well as another chevy truck same year, model and tire from factory but only 1 of their tires has failed as of today. One of the tire punctures has leaked 5 psi within 1 mile distance. For obvious reasons of a tire going flat and so fast for no reason this can be extremely dangerous for the occupants of the vehicle as well as others that are on the same roadway,( locations to pull over, weather conditions IE icy roads and pos tire ruptures) The conditions have only been observed in the late spring, summer, and fall, they have not yet been seen in the winter, but is expected to fail more often as the cold with cause the tire to become more brittle and prone to more cracking. The Chevy truck TPMS does provided a fast and accurate tire pressure give the driver enough time to make decision on the best location to stop

275/50 R22 I was driving on a major interstate approximately 65 mph when a strong vibration was felt. As I started to move to the shoulder and slow down, the tread detached from the tire. The tire remained on the vehicle but the tread delaminated and was in the middle of the highway. This caused significant (>$11k) damages to the truck. I sent the tire to Continental and they declined taking liability for the tire failure. However, this happened to another owner a week or two after my issue and they had the same tire with only 30k miles. Additionally, there is already a recall on the same type of tire (different size) from last year due to tire delamination. This is a serious safety issue that could result in fatalities.

General Grabbers AT Driving center lane on clear highway. Tire had a complete sidewall blow out total separation of sidewall and tread. Almost lost control of vehicle. Brand new vehicle with only 400 miles on it. Location on the outside of the sidewall. We saved the tire if you would like us to send it in for inspection.

Tire Size: 265 70 16. While driving on a straight and level highway, the right rear tire sidewall completely shredded. Tire lost all air pressure and separated from the rim. I bought four General Grabber tires in July 2021. This is the second tire that the sidewall shredded. The first one shredded on the left rear side in July of 2024. There are a lot of General Grabber tires being recalled for over-cured sidewalls but it's strange that there are no recalls on this particular tire.

WE PURCHASED A COMPLETE SET OF GENERAL GRABBER HTS 235/75R16 FOR OUR CHEVY EXPRESS VAN AT DUNN TIRE ON 11/15/08. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A 60K WARRANTY. WE WENT IN FOR THE REQUIRED ROTATIONS AND NOTED THAT THE TREAD DIDN'T SEEM TO BE WEARING WELL. AT THE 20K MILE ROTATION IN JANUARY OF 2011, DUNN TIRE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT PERFORMING AS ADVERTISED AND TOLD US THAT THEY WOULD LIKELY NEED TO ADJUST THE TIRES ON A PRO-RATA BASIS AT THE NEXT ROTATION AT 25K MILES. IT IS OUR BELIEF THAT THE TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE IN SOME WAY. THE ORIGINAL TIRES ON OUR VAN LIVED UP TO THEIR 40K WARRANTY AND WE REPLACED WITH THESE GRABBER HTS TIRES AT 39747 MILES. OUR DRIVING HABITS ARE CONSERVATIVE AND WE HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE TIRES AHEAD OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THE TREAD WAS SO BAD ON THESE GRABBER HTS TIRES THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO DRIVE OUR VAN ON SNOWY ROADS DURING THIS PAST WINTER. WE ALSO WERE CONCERNED ABOUT HYDROPLANING ON THE EXPRESSWAY WHEN WE DROVE THE VAN THROUGH HEAVY RAINS THIS PAST WEEKEND WHEN WE DROPPED OFF OUR DAUGHTER AT COLLEGE. WE BELIEVE THESE TIRES ARE HAZARDOUS AND THAT AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE INITIATED. IT'S INCONCEIVABLE THAT WE WOULD ONLY GET 25K MILES OUT OF A 60K TIRES. WE FEEL CHEATED AND REALLY DO NOT WANT ANOTHER SET OF GENERAL TIRES ON A PRO-RATA BASIS. *TR
