The contact owns a 2025 BMW IX. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle independently accelerated without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The contact depressed the brake pedal to avoid a crash and the vehicle eventually returned to normal operation. The failure had occurred on several occasions. A dealer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.

My vehicle was diagnosed in August of 2026 with a suspension thrust arm failure showing leaking hydraulic fluid. The repair cost was quoted at $2,200.00. I found on the internet a BMW of north america service bulletin that called out these thrust arms can fail due to "Various external influences can cause premature aging of the tension strut hydro-mount elastomer; whichcan lead to cracks in the material, and leakage." The service bulletin noted that BMW covers repair costs (parts and labor) on this for cars within the new manufacturer warranty which unfortunately my car had just passed the manufacturer warranty. It is clear these have been leaking for some time and likely failed well before the manufacturer warranty expired but was only diagnosed later. This is clearly a defective part as noted by BMW themselves and for them not to provide coverage of this which is also a safety concern is what I am writing about.

The roof of the BMW started delaminating a few years back, and it is compromising the structural integrity of this vehicle. In an attempt to fix the roof, epoxy was applied after it was smoothed down and the roof looked aesthetically pleasing for about a year, until it started delaminating rapidly in the same spots. Now, the roof liner is starting to collapse, telling me that moisture is getting into the vehicle, further damaging the roof.

Front differentials failed at 31k miles. Potential for the car to lock up or break down in highway. Problem was confirmed by independent shop.

Driving on highway using assisted driving pro (hands off steering wheel and feet off pedals). Speed set for 65 or 67. Driver's phone call came up on display screen. Passenger answered and hung up on screen. Driver did not touch wheel. Car started accelerating. Reached 93 mph before realized what was happening and able to apply brakes. Short time later tried to reengage speed and verbally requested increase to 65 or 67. Car set cruise control to 110. Both passengers heard 65 or 67, definitely not 110. Applied brake and didn't use any driver assistance controls for remainder of trip. Nice weather, no glare, light traffic. Software update was installed the day before. BMW dealership found no problem. National BMW consumer line suggested setting speed manually with buttons on steering wheel instead of verbally.

Last year around this time my differential failed and I lost all power to my wheels when driving in traffic in [XXX] on my way back to [XXX]. The car was driving and a loud clunk sound came from the car and the transmission wouldn't drive and I had to coast off the road cutting off cars to make it to a parking lot. I thought this was just something that happened to my car that maybe I did but then I saw the recall going on for the BMW differentials and realized It wasn't just a one off thing that happened to me. The vehicle was towed to a shop by AAA insurance and was looked at and confirmed to be the differental and driveshaft. I already had the problem looked at and fixed and I have documentation of everything. The only warning signs I noticed before it happened was a clunking noise and feeling like the wheels had a problem with putting power down to the road and I heard it and felt it and it got worse before it broke but I didnt realize what it was until I was actually stuck in [XXX] after it broke. My vehicle isn't included in the official recall but I would like help to get it added because I belive I suffered the same problem and am hoping for reimbursement for the money I spent on the repairs of a defective part that my car came with. I had to leave my car at AAA repair shop to be looked at and get a rental to come back home so I could make it to work in 2 days and eneded up missing work the next day. My next day off I had to rent a towing dolly from [XXX] and drive back there to pick my vehicle up and tow it back home to [XXX]. The contact owns a 2023 BMW X3. The contact stated that after purchasing the salvaged vehicle at an auction, the contact became aware while attempting to register the vehicle, that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V438000 (Electrical System). A dealer was contacted for the recall repair; however, the dealer informed the contact that the part to complete the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) on my vehicle has experienced a catastrophic premature failure for the second time, presenting a severe and immediate safety hazard. This vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA Recall 21V-586 in 2022 at 66,165 miles, during which the original defective fuel pump was replaced by an authorized BMW dealership. At approximately 123,000 miles, the replacement pump failed while the vehicle was in operation. When these high-pressure fuel pumps fail, they cause sudden engine stalling, a complete loss of propulsion while driving, and a loss of power-assist for steering and braking. This creates an immediate risk of a high-speed collision on public roadways, especially during highway transit. Furthermore, failure of this component can lead to internal mechanical destruction, creating a potential fuel leak or fire hazard. Because a replacement part mandated by a federal safety recall has failed in the exact same manner after limited mileage, the remedy provided under Recall 21V-586 is demonstrably inadequate to permanently resolve this safety hazard. BMW is currently refusing to cover the repair because the vehicle is just past the 120,000-mile extended warranty limit, leaving a known, recurring safety defect unaddressed. I am filing this complaint to urge NHTSA to investigate the failure rates of BMW's replacement recall pumps, as the current remedy does not guarantee long-term vehicle safety.

I am getting error code 21A50A and 216115 which Starter Overheating that can cause fire. Similar error code were coming on other cars and BMW have recalled it the recall number is 26V056. I ask BMW and NHTSA to include 330E in this recall as 330E is similar to 330I. 330I and 330E uses same parts and similar design and excluding the 330E from this recall doesn't make sense.

The contact owns a 2022 BMW X6. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH on the highway, the vehicle lost power, and the contact was unable to maneuver the vehicle or accelerate as needed. The heat management module warning light illuminated on the instrument panel and caused the vehicle to lose motive power. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure was confirmed by the dealer. The vehicle was scheduled to be repaired. The contact was able to continue driving the vehicle under reduced power. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle returned to normal operation; however, the failure recurred.
