RECALL FOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM : ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR/RECTIFIER ASSEMBLY MAY HAVE AN OVERCHARGING CONDITION. AN OVERCHARGING SITUATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LOOSE BATTERY CONNECTION COULD CAUSE A STALLING CONDITION.

Description ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR/RECTIFIER ASSEMBLY MAY HAVE AN OVERCHARGING CONDITION. AN OVERCHARGING SITUATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LOOSE BATTERY CONNECTION COULD CAUSE A STALLING CONDITION.
Consequences AN UNEXPECTED LOSS OF ENGINE POWER COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Corrective action DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR/RECTIFIER AND INSPECT BOTH BATTERY CABLES FOR TIGHTNESS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 5, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT POLARIS/VICTORY AT 1-888-704-5290.
