Continental Tire the Americas, LLC (CTA) is recalling certain Continental TerrainContact H/T LT265/60R20 121/118R, CrossContact LX25 235/60R18 107V, CrossContact RX ContiSeal 275/40R21 107H, and General Grabber HTS 60LT245/75/R17 121/118S tires. The tires may have been produced using the wrong rubber compound, causing the tread to detach.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 5,362 units affected.

Description:: Continental Tire the Americas, LLC (CTA) is recalling certain Continental TerrainContact H/T LT265/60R20 121/118R, CrossContact LX25 235/60R18 107V, CrossContact RX ContiSeal 275/40R21 107H, and General Grabber HTS 60LT245/75/R17 121/118S tires. The tires may have been produced using the wrong rubber compound, causing the tread to detach.
Consequeces:: A tire tread detachment can result in a tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect and replace the tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2025. Owners may contact CTA customer service at 1-888-799-2168.

While driving approximately 15 MPH I noticed a scraping sound and shimmy in the back. I took the car to Capital Cadillac for diagnostic. They found that the tires were separated. I bought the car brand new in 2020 and it has about 21k miles on it. 265/45 R 21 104 V;
0 CONTINENTAL CROSSCONTACT RX CONTISEAL Complaints
On Friday August 7th, I was driving my 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ Luxury AWD at approximately 25 mph near Byron road in Tracy. While crossing a railroad track under normal driving conditions, both passenger-side tires—the right-front and right-rear—suddenly lost air and sustained sidewall ruptures. I did not strike a pothole, curb, debris, or any other visible object, and no foreign object or tread puncture was found. Both tires were Continental CrossContact RX, size 245/50 R20 105H XL, tubeless and were the original factory-installed tires. The vehicle had approximately 12,850 miles, and the tires had approximately 12,850 miles. Before the incident, there was no tire-pressure warning or indication of a problem, and the tires were maintained at the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended pressure. The near-simultaneous failure of two tires on the same side required an immediate stop and created a serious risk of loss of vehicle control. Photographs show a substantial split in the tire sidewall. There were NO INJURIES and NO OTHER DAMAGE. Both failed tires have been retained and are available for inspection. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether these failures indicate a safety defect involving this tire model or its application on the vehicle.;
