Chrysler is recalling certain 2021-2022 Dodge Durango

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Dodge Durango, 2021-2023 Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, Chrysler Voyager, 2022-2023 Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram Promaster vehicles. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,033,433 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Dodge Durango, 2021-2023 Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, Chrysler Voyager, 2022-2023 Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram Promaster vehicles. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequeces:: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will update the radio software or the software will be OTA, "Over-The-Air," free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 9, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's numbers for this recall are 66B and 79B.

2022 CHRYSLER VOYAGER Complaints
The contact owns a 2022 Chrysler Voyager Mobility vehicle. The contact stated that within a month of purchasing the vehicle brand new, the passenger's side door failed to open, causing the contact to be trapped inside the vehicle. Another mobility vehicle driver assisted the contact by opening the passenger's side door from the outside. The contact stated that the failure had recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the cable that opened the passenger's side door was entangled and fractured. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the cable was outdated and needed to be replaced with an updated cable. The updated cable was sent to the mechanic, who replaced the cable; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was driven to a nearby independent mechanic Empey's Truck & Auto Repair, where the passenger's side door cable was cut, and the door was opened. The contact drove to the residence. The vehicle was taken back to Empey's Truck & Auto Repair by the contact's relatives, and a new cable was installed; however, the failure persisted. The contact drove over to his brother, who was unable to open the door from the outside. The vehicle was then taken back to Empey's Truck & Auto Repair, where the cable was cut, and the door was opened. The modifier was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 150.;
2022 DODGE DURANGO Complaints
Taillight is retaining water and causing my taillights to go out. This is a very well known issue as the dealer was aware of this issue with a lot of Durangos. The dealer offered no repair as there’s not be a recall and the warranty on my Durango is up. My rear hatch/lift gate is also off and rubbing near the bottom causing the paint to be worn and now beginning to rust. There’s are definitely a quality issue with Dodge as there’s many other Durango’s affected by this.;
2022 RAM 1500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH on the interstate, the vehicle lost traction and fishtailed on the wet roadway. While at a stop and turning, the vehicle started spinning like the vehicle was driving on ice, even though the outside temperature was hot. The local dealer was contacted and scheduled an upcoming appointment. The manufacturer was contacted but was unsure if a complaint was taken due to a language barrier. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.;
2022 RAM 2500 Complaints
The contact owns a Rexing R4 MD 4-Channel Dash Camera purchased at Walmart. The camera was designed with a 4-channel dash camera system used to record the front, rear, left, and right sides of the vehicle simultaneously. The contact stated that after installing the camera on a 2022 Ram 2500, the unit failed to turn off as intended and remained continuously powered and overheated. The contact expressed safety concerns that the failure presented a fire hazard. The contact attempted to notify the manufacturer via email and telephone at 877-740-8004; however, no response was received, and the telephone number was recently out of service.;
2022 RAM 3500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2022 Ram Promaster 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH while making a left turn, the steering wheel suddenly jerked to the left and the right. The EPS warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that while in reverse, the steering wheel jerked and became firm. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, while driving at various speeds and making a left or right turn, the brakes unintendedly activated while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,169.;
