Honda is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra, Civic Type R, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V, HR-V, 2022-2025 Civic, Civic Hatchback, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S, 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Hatchback Hybrid vehicles. The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 1,693,199 units affected.

Description:: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra, Civic Type R, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V, HR-V, 2022-2025 Civic, Civic Hatchback, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S, 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Hatchback Hybrid vehicles. The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.
Consequeces:: Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2024. Owners may contact Honda Customer Service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are SJS, MJU, QJT and VJV.

2025 ACURA INTEGRA Complaints
While approaching a slowing car on the offramp, the Acura's automatic braking slammed on the brakes abruptly while flashing "Brake" on the dash. The car stopped well short of the car in front. This abrupt, uncommanded stopping resulted in a near miss whereby the driver behind my car nearly hit me. In addition to stopping sooner than required, and thus giving the driver behind me less chance to react, the system did not apply full braking force, but more like 90-95% of maximum braking force. This is an example of Schroedinger's automatic emergency braking, where a situation is simultaneously "unavoidable" such that the car intervenes, yet not dire enough to apply full braking. This car will stop from 60mph in less than 110 feet, but the system appears to be calibrated for a much lower performance car with tires made of wood, such as an A-Spec or Technology Package Acura. This car has had previous incidents of defective automatic braking at low speeds, however with nobody behind me these did not result in a near miss. During the 20 months that I have owned the car it has slammed the brakes while pulling into my garage as well. For some inexplicable reason, Acura's calibration engineers think that I am going to drive through my water heater and furnace after 25 years of driving with no accidents. Due to these previous incidents, I had adjusted the "distance" parameter for the AEB to the shortest allowable, but it still activates unnecessarily. While this low speed braking defect will not cause a serious injury or fatality, it is yet another example of the poor execution that plagues this car. In summary, the automatic braking system on this car is dangerous and unusual, and is mis-calibrated considering the performance capability of the car.;
2025 HONDA CIVIC Complaints
Honda's braking is so sharp and late against standing objects (red light vehicle). Sometimes, even accelerates in visibility area and get scary, if it really going to brake? brakes very sharply, when the car in front of you turns and even out of your way already. I'm just filing this for you to help push the manufacturer to fix with Software upgrade, as I see Hyundai and Toyota's have very smooth and more accurate systems.;
2025 HONDA CIVIC HATCHBACK HYBRID Complaints
The contact owns a 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH and approaching another vehicle, the adaptive cruise control mode failed to operate as needed. The message " Brake" was displayed. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle did not have sufficient time to stop and crashed into a truck. The front end of the vehicle went underneath the high bumper truck. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. Neither the contact nor the other driver sustained any injuries. The vehicle was towed to an autobody repair shop. A police report was filed. The contact stated that he was afraid to disclose to the police officer that the incident occurred due to the adaptive cruise control mode failure. The contact advised the police officer that he failed to depress the brake pedal in time. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,300.;
2025 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID Complaints
On a two way lane highway, vehicle detects on coming traffic and causes sudden deceleration of vehicle and braking which can cause being rear ended by another vehicle. This also occurs on multi lane freeways when going in the same direction the vehicle will detect a vehicle in the lane next to me braking and again cause the vehicle to decelerate and brake which could cause an accident. Occurs at least once or twice a week. I have a video of the issue which might be better;
