Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2020-2026 Nissan Armada

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2020-2026 Nissan Armada, 2011-2013 Infiniti QX56, and 2014-2027 QX80 vehicles equipped with 22" wheels. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 168,149 units affected.

Description:: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2020-2026 Nissan Armada, 2011-2013 Infiniti QX56, and 2014-2027 QX80 vehicles equipped with 22" wheels. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. Consequeces:: An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will install new labels, free of charge. Additionally, Nissan will mail replacement labels to owners. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed September 2, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated Fall 2026. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R26B1 and P6A13/4. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 16, 2026.

2013 INFINITI QX56 Complaints
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti QX56. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle made an abnormally loud ticking sound. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the timing chain had failed, and the failure was related to Infiniti Campaign Number: P6305. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the campaign had expired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.;
2026 NISSAN ARMADA Complaints
Vehicle has a known defect in which a safety module is faulty in it that disables all safety features in the vehicle. Nissan has been very defensive in addressing less, despite the fact of acceptance that it is a known defect that is putting peoples lives at risk;
2027 INFINITI QX80 Complaints
I am reporting a potential fuel/fire safety defect involving TWO brand-new 2027 Infiniti QX80s. My first QX80 developed a strong raw-gasoline odor after driving/shutdown, especially when parked in my residential garage. I repeatedly reported this to Infiniti. Various explanations were given, including Arizona heat and gasoline formulation. The dealer ultimately exchanged the vehicle. The replacement 2027 QX80 developed substantially the SAME gasoline odor after only about 12 miles from the dealership to my home. I returned it for evaluation. On XXX, Infiniti on Camelback inspected the replacement vehicle. This is no longer based solely on my observation. Their final repair order documents my complaint of “fuel smell coming from the rear driver side wheel area” and, importantly, states their inspector “had a fuel smell at the time of check in and in the shop while sitting in the shop.” The dealer found no codes or visible fuel leak. Therefore, an Infiniti dealer independently detected and documented the fuel odor. Afterward, I spoke with Service Director [XXX]. He told me he had discussed this same issue/condition with an Infiniti field engineer and that Infiniti was aware of it. My understanding was that he was not aware of a specific repair, corrective procedure, or available fix at this time. I am extremely concerned because the same condition occurred in TWO new QX80s, the dealer confirmed the fuel odor, Infiniti field engineering is reportedly aware, yet no cause or fix has been provided. No diagnostic code or visible liquid leak explains why gasoline vapor/odor is present. My concern is fire risk and gasoline-vapor exposure, particularly when parked in an attached residential garage. I request NHTSA investigate the QX80 fuel/EVAP system and similar complaints. Vehicle and documentation are available for inspection. Infiniti Case #XXX. VIN: [XXX].
