PACCAR Incorporated is recalling certain 2027 Peterbilt 548 trucks

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2027 Peterbilt 548 trucks. The front brake valve and hoses may be the incorrect size, which can delay the rear service brake application and release, as well as the trailer gladhand application times. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 58 units affected.

Description:
PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2027 Peterbilt 548 trucks. The front brake valve and hoses may be the incorrect size, which can delay the rear service brake application and release, as well as the trailer gladhand application times. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
Consequeces:
Delayed brake response time can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:
Dealers will replace the front brake valves and hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 31, 2026. Owners may contact Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's number for this recall is 26PACF.
