Consequences IF A SHORT CIRCUIT OCCURS IN EITHER SITUATION, THE CIRCUIT BREAKER WILL TRIP. HOWEVER, IF THE BREAKER FAILS TO TRIP, ARCING FROM THE SHORT CIRCUIT COULD IGNITE ANY COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL OR ITEMS THAT MAY BE STORED IN THE KITCHEN SINK CABINET AND START A FIRE.
Corrective action DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, AS NECESSARY, REPLACE ANY DAMAGED WIRING AND ALSO INSTALL A FLEXIBLE CORD AND PLASTIC WIRING CONDUIT TO PROTECT THE 120-VOLT WIRING AGAINST CHAFING.
