CHICCO FIT360 Complaints

Have the seat installed using the lever lock system which chicco states is a lock off system and the seatbelt does not need to be locked off. After a few days the install becomes completely loose. I am also able to pull the top part of the seatbelt towards the buckle while it is installed

The chest buckle on BOTH of my fit360s has been stuck open and won’t latch to the other piece to secure my child in correctly/ safely.

The base failed - the mechanism holding the seat into the base is .5 inch plastic spinner latches and if they fail and don’t deploy fully (which the green check mark shows), then it would be so unsafe and not connected to the car at all. This is what’s happening with my son’s car seat. It doesn’t indicate green and I have to jiggle the entire thing to get it to be green instead of red. Sometimes it sits half way between red and green. Also, the chest clip failed to connect after I had thought that I put my child in it properly, he touched it and un clipped himself from the seat, if I would not have noticed and kept driving, he could’ve been projected from the seat. If the seat is not attached to the base properly, it could eject from the seat in the event of an accident, which would be fatal. I am so unimpressed with this car seat, and I expect them to recall it. When trying to get the seat out to clean it, it was stuck and the detach key would not make the click sound and disconnect the seat from the base. Even with following the instructions exactly. The seat does not sit well in a Tesla; the seatbelt folds over itself. Also, while driving home today we noticed for the first time from the inside of the seat one indicator was red, and one indicator was green.

I have had this car seat a little over a year and the chest buckle randomly stopped magnetizing. It will appear magnetized but will pop apart. This is absolutely unsafe and these seats need pulled from the consumers.

The chest clip fails to connect. My child just unclips it himself because the magnet does not work. The magnet doesn’t set and is stuck so the chest clip doesn’t secure and just hangs open as soon as the child moves in the seat. Even though it looks like it’s buckled it is not and I could not get it to connect.

Magnetic chest clip no longer stays closed after latching. Can easily pop open with light pressure from 1 hand without engaging the release mechanism.

Rear-facing child can loosen the Chicco KeyFit 360 installation through normal leg movement. The rear-facing belt/LATCH tensioning and release mechanism is positioned directly behind the child and is exposed. Light kicking or leg extension allows the child to contact the latch/tension area, releasing belt tension and loosening the entire seat installation. This occurs despite correct installation per the manufacturer’s instructions and requires no abnormal force. This compromises installation integrity prior to a crash and presents a serious safety risk.

The contact owns a Chicco car seat, Model Type: Keyfit 360 Convertible Child Seat, Manufactured Date: (Unknown), and installed in a 2025 Kia Carnival. The contact stated that while her son attempted to clip the magnetic chest clip together and the car seat failed to fasten and failed to work as intended. The contact stated that the harness strap was detached from the T-bar in the rear of the car seat. The contact stated that the child was in the seat during the failure. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. The contact was not able to reattach the strap. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The cause of the failure was not yet determined.

The magnetic chest clip failed. It will clip together but then won’t remain magnetized/secure. It’s misleading because you strap your child into the seat and then when you arrive at your destination the chest clip has come undone. It’s extremely dangerous. We’ve only had the car seat 15 months. I’ve read online that this has happened to many people and has been reported to chicco. So Chicco is not doing anything to report this issue or fix it. Please please recall this car seat. It’s so unsafe and misleading to continue selling this car seat as a safe option for young children .

The magnetic chest clip does not always latch. Over the past week it has taken several attempts each time of get the chest clip to latch. I click it together and it comes right back apart. It is like the magnet doesn’t work correctly.
