Coolant is leaking into the combustion chamber. Car can stall causing a major issue depending on speed and location. Yes, my mechanic has confirmed. Not inspected yet by manufacturer. Yes, check engine light has come on in the past and had the spark plugs replaced twice. This time they saw coolant in the combustion chamber.

The engine failed in 2024, leaving me stalled on the side of a major highway. More recently, in August 2026, my vehicle began experiencing problems shifting into reverse. A warning message stating, “Selected Gear will engage at low speed,” would appear. I contacted my local Ford dealership, and they stated that the transmission fluid was in poor condition, although they were unable to reproduce the specific shifting issue I was experiencing at that time. On September 3, 2026, while driving to work, my vehicle began losing transmission pressure and was unable to accelerate while I was traveling on the main highway. I contacted my local Ford dealership again, and I was informed that the transmission pump was failing. The vehicle and transmission components are available for inspection upon request. My safety, my child's safety, and the safety of other drivers on the highway were put at risk. While traveling on a major highway, my vehicle suddenly lost the ability to accelerate. A complete loss of power or the vehicle stalling in traffic could have resulted in a serious accident, particularly with vehicles traveling behind me at highway speeds. Yes. My local Ford dealership has confirmed that the transmission pump is failing. The vehicle has been inspected/diagnosed by my local Ford dealership. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Yes. The vehicle has experienced ongoing issues for approximately the past two years. I have repeatedly attempted to have the problems diagnosed and repaired. I was previously told that the issues were related to the turbo/engine boost system. In August 2026, the vehicle began having noticeable problems shifting into reverse, accompanied by the warning message “Selected Gear will engage at low speed.” The dealership initially stated that the transmission fluid was bad but did not reproduce the specific issue I was experiencing. On September 3, 2026, the vehicle experienced a more serious failure while I was drivin

    - Greensburg, PA

There are no warning lamps on at this time but the transmission is not shifting at the right points. It seems to search a lot for the right gear. Also half the time you hit the gas there is severe transmission lag. It makes it dangerous to pull into traffic. I first had the transmission replaced at roughly 36000 miles. It now has 47000 miles on it and I believe it is already defective.

    - St Cloud, FL

The vehicle has a ten speed transmission. It started with the transmission making minor down shifts from 3 to 1 and then 7 to 1. Without any engine warning light. It has subsequently started a severe shift from 3 to 1 and 7 to 1 and the engine light has now come on. This creates a dangerous situation when it down shifts from 7-1 when your speed is 45 mph of above. I contacted a dealership regarding a repair but was told there is no recall and it would cost $215 to diagnose and from $4,500 - $8,000 for the repair. It is a known issue to the Ford dealers but without a recall they are gouging the consumers who is at risk of accident.

I have been sending email for 2 years. I did not know I could use this form. The back up camera that helps me back up does not operate. Sometimes it show upside down or is not available at all. This is a safety issue for me to operate my vehicle.

  • 2020 FORD F-150
    - Springfield, VA

2020 Ford F-150 Raptor supercab with 47,500 miles. Front right coil spring broke into several pieces while sitting in the driveway. Rust on one half of the piece that fell on the driveway indicates rust coating failed and caused the initial break in the coil spring. The way the coil spring broke and the vehicle lost ride height could have killed me if I were underneath changing the oil. If it had broke while driving, it would have caused an accident from loss of control endangering vehicle passengers and others on the road.I will keep all parts and have available for inspection. In hindsight, the only sign this was a problem was noise while driving over speed bumps and it was inspected by several different shops (Ford, VA inspection, two auto body shops) over the last year while it presented the noise. The truck has not been inspected since the coil spring broke.
