2020 HYUNDAI SONATA- Van Buren, AR
A/C blower motor fan would stop working. Happened twice within less than a year apart. Upon further inspection, multi fuse wiring overheated and melted, ruining fuse and making A/C stop working during 100+ temperatures outside. Apparently this is a well known issue with this make and model Sonata. Electrical failure.

2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON- Indianapolis, IN
Vehicle is losing a lot of oil. But there is no oil leaking on the ground. Upon looking at the safety recall, it says it might be fire hazardous. I noticed smoke coming from under the hood. Vehicle run rough and also hear sounds.

2021 HYUNDAI PALISADE- Cedar valley , UT
My car started having the airbag light come off and on randomly the end of January 2026. I caught the first photo February. My car engine shut off the first time March 18. 2026. I was at a traffic light, auto off turned off. Car switched to park, dash lights included: oil, battery, engine, and immobilizer incon. When trying to hit drive it tells me the driving conditions aren't met. I shut the car off and back on, everything reset. Contacted hyundai and no codes were stored. My car has now done this same thing the following dates: 6.5, 7.3, 8.4(car went into the shop August 6th-September 3rd). They could not duplicate what I told them, they drove the car 100 miles being mainly freeway miles though I told them its city driving and mainly idle and stopping. I drove my car 3 days and on 9.6.26 it did it twice within 5 minutes. First time on a main road/traffic lights, next in the parking lot I pulled in. Same scenario as above.

2026 HYUNDAI SANTA FE HYBRID- Westbrook, ME
The Driver Attention sensor cannot be turned off. In a recent trip it engaged a dozen times over a one hour ride, a ride I was completely fully alert for. I find the warning itself to be a safety issue and very distracting while I'm trying to drive and follow a map to have it constantly be going off. A simple software update to provide ability to turn it off would resolve this and there are hundreds of similar complaints about this that I can find in message boards. Unacceptable.

2026 HYUNDAI TUCSON HYBRID- Knoxville, TN
My instrument cluster goes completely blank while driving the vehicle. It will also have every light come on when it does come back on all of the check engine lights, and every other diagnosis light comes on. It continues to do this while driving. I have already had the safety recall done and it is still failing.

"take a coffee break" warning goes on an inappropriate amount of time. When I drive straight down the highway it alarms. However, if i cross the white lines it does not alarm. Also when this alarm turns on all other sounds systems in the car go silent including the GPS/Apple Carplay. I have missed exits and turns due to this alarm going off. There is no way to turn it off or make it less sensitive. I consider this alarm to be unsafe and annoying.

2016 HYUNDAI SONATA HYBRID- Walkerton, IN
Vehicle Impact:While driving, the vehicle suddenly displayed a "Check Hybrid System" warning on the dashboard and suffered a complete, sudden loss of propulsion while on the road. The vehicle dropped power completely and would not restart, creating an immediate, severe safety hazard to myself and surrounding traffic.Diagnostic & Component Confirmation:The vehicle was towed to a certified Hyundai dealership (Hyundai of Goshen, Repair Order #6080674). Diagnostic testing confirmed trouble codes P0717 (Input Speed Sensor No Signal) and P0A40 (Drive Motor Position Sensor). The dealership's certified technician explicitly documented that they "followed TSB and found input speed sensor valve body harness is faulty due to heavy corrosion on the sensor connector."Safety Hazard Summary:This is a critical manufacturing and sealing defect where an internal, non-wear component (the transmission valve body wire harness) corrodes prematurely. This corrosion blinds the hybrid control modules to the electric motor's position and output speed. To protect itself, the computer initiates a hard, uncommanded shutdown of the hybrid drivetrain while the vehicle is in motion.Hyundai Motor America was contacted (Case #43225229) but denied any financial or safety assistance because this documented Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) defect has not yet been elevated to a formal safety recall. This sudden powertrain failure presents an unreasonable risk of rear-end collisions and catastrophic highway accidents for 2016 Sonata Hybrid owners.

2019 HYUNDAI KONA- Brenham, TX
My 2019 Hyundai Kona SE (2.0L Nu MPI/Atkinson engine) was previously subject to NHTSA Recall 21V301000 (Hyundai Recall 203) for defective piston oil rings that can chip and cause accelerated oil consumption, engine knocking, and stalling. That recall's remedy was performed under a prior owner in December 2021. In November 2025, a Hyundai dealership installed a Cylinder Noise Diagnostic System (CNDS) software update (Service Campaign 974) specifically meant to detect this defect's vibration signature before it causes engine damage. Approximately 7,000-8,000 miles and about nine months after that software update, the vehicle stalled unexpectedly while being driven on two separate occasions, with no check-engine light or other warning beforehand. A third stall left the vehicle unable to restart. It was towed to a service station, which found no engine oil and no external leak. A Hyundai dealership subsequently diagnosed cracked valves that allowed approximately 5 quarts of oil to burn through the engine, and determined the engine requires complete replacement. This is the same failure mode (oil consumption/engine damage leading to stalling) that the original recall and the 2025 software update were both meant to prevent, and the software gave no advance warning before the stalling occurred. The vehicle and dealership diagnosis are available for inspection upon request.

2019 HYUNDAI SANTA FE- East Aurora, NY
My vehicle had a very strong gas smell inside and outside of the car. I found a gas puddle under the car coming from the back of the vehicle. Car was hesitating when I stepped on the gas. I was afraid it may stall. I drove the vehicle to my regular service station. Vehicle has an active fuel leak and this is a fire hazard. I was very concerned whether the vehicle would stall and cause an accident. Warranty coverage was denied.

2026 HYUNDAI PALISADE- MESQUITE, NV
With 2100 miles on the Hyundai Palasade Calligraphy Hybrid, we were driving on a well established dirt and gravel road when we experienced a loud pop or bang. We saw nothing in the road ahead in the form of a pot hole or protruding rock, etc. A minute later, a low tire pressure warning light came on. The tire went flat. Upon close inspection there was a cut like slit in the tire just below the bead line of the wheel rim. A look back on the road traveled, produced no clear obstruction that might have caused this. Our assessment of this is a sidewall blowout. This new vehicle comes with no spare tire. Only a pump and container of sealant. Installation of this failed to restore the tire for obvious reasons. This Pirelli 265 45R21 Scorpion MS tire is rare and not in stock anywhere. We had to tow our vehicle 50 miles to a Hyundai dealer who told us we had to wait for them to order a tire. We have spent close to $400.00 in Expenses and still did not pay for a tire yet. Searching the web reveals similar problems with this tire. This has resulted in a negative customer experience with the vehicle and Hyundai alike.
