2024 JEEP WRANGLER Complaints

On approximately 95% of my driving trips, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe suddenly and unpredictably loses acceleration or drive power. When I press the accelerator, the vehicle does not respond or accelerate normally. A warning then appears stating that electric mode is unavailable. After several seconds, the vehicle begins operating normally again. There is no apparent pattern, and this has occurred while traveling approximately 50 to 70 mph. The malfunction appears to involve the hybrid propulsion or power-control system. The vehicle is available for inspection. It is included in FCA Recall A7ululo:\/\/A nawe7Cl7C (NHTSA Campaign 25V-710), which concerns loss of drive power associated with an over-the-air software update. No remedy is currently available. This condition putssafety because I cannot rely on the Jeep to accelerate or maintain power when needed. At highway speeds, it could prevent me from responding to traffic, merging safely, or avoiding a hazard. I have stopped driving the Jeep on highways whenever possible and use back roads instead. The dealership has not yet reproduced or diagnosed this specific problem, although the symptoms are consistent with Recall A7C. The vehicle has received service for other recalls and is awaiting an engine replacement under a separate recall. It has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or an independent repair facility for this issue. There is generally no warning before the loss of acceleration. The “Electric Mode Unavailable” message appears after the malfunction begins, and normal performance returns several seconds later.

Intermittent delayed/loss of acceleration when accelerator is depressed, along with abnormal switching between electric and gasoline propulsion. Symptoms began after recall 68C was performed. I was on all electric at the time going 40 mph when compressing the accelerated did not work and the car seemed to slow for a few seconds before it engaged. I have roughly 15,500 miles on the Jeep and got the 68C done last fall.

I left my home for work on XXX. I noticed a lack of propulsion upon stepping on the gas & air conditioning blowing warm air. At a stoplight ([XXX] and [XXX] in [XXX]), I attempted to restart the vehicle in hopes that a reset may fix any issues. What I found was that my vehicle would not restart and I could not remove it from park in a busy intersection. After 30 minutes of trying, I was able to get it to turn on and move to the Burger King parking lot. A tow truck arrived and took me to the [XXX] Valley Chysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealer. They told me it would take until Tuesday XXX to look at it. They could not offer me a loaner nor a rental vehicle. They called on XXX and said it was a battery defect and may take weeks to repair. To date, my vehicle with 27,000 miles have been in for four separate recalls, citing lack of propulsion, risk of battery fire. Zero accidents. I no longer feel safe driving the vehicle after recalls: "the 2.0 engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process ... leading to catastrophic engine failure." "firmware software...may cause loss of drive power which can cause a vehicle crash." "The high voltage battery may become damaged during normal vehicle operation ... advising owners to park away from structures or other vehicles" "Electric Hydraulic Power Steering Pump may have electrical issue ... may lead to a fire." The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V710000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power and the check engine warning light remained illuminated during the failure. Additionally, the message, "Please See Dealer for Vehicle Maintenance," was displayed. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed that the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.

The car does not ride properly...it stops suddenly, it jolts, it vibrates, the battery sounds like it is overworking or overheating. Our plug-in charger caught fire and when we found out there was a recall on the battery we brought it to Jeep and they told us it's fine. But, it's not fine. It completely stalled while driving this morning and feels like it's going to blow up. I no longer feel safe driving it as it keeps jolting, stopping and feeling like it's going to explode.

Vehicle engine light comes on and says loss of power restart engine. Dealer found no codes and no repairs were made. This is the second occurrence.

Driving the vehicle and it had uncontrolled acceleration. The wipers went on and multiple lights went on, engine, brakes to name a few. The brake peddle did work. Picture below was after incident and not all the lights.

The contact leased a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact's husband observed an oil leak. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer for the oil leak; however, the replacement parts were backordered. The vehicle was later repaired. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the water pump needed replacement. Additionally, the vehicle failed to operate in reverse. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a transfer case failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to dismiss a lawsuit. The contact consulted an attorney regarding the matter. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000. The VIN was unavailable.

On August 26, 2026, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, with approximately 32,000 miles, experienced a sudden loss of power while my family and I were driving. The vehicle lost power in an intersection, creating a serious safety hazard with surrounding traffic. We were stranded until help arrived, and the vehicle had to be towed because it would not restart. Before the loss of power, the A/C stopped blowing cold air. The check-engine light came on, dashboard components and warning indicators began flashing, the battery warning light appeared, and a “Service Charging System” warning was displayed. This was not simply an inconvenience. The sudden loss of power left us unable to move the vehicle in an intersection and created a significant risk of being struck by another vehicle, potentially causing serious injury or death. I am a military veteran, and this incident caused a severe stress and trauma response because I believed my family's safety and my life were in danger. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this incident is related to a safety defect involving the charging system, electrical system, hybrid propulsion system, battery system, power electronics, software, or another component capable of causing sudden loss of motive power. I understand NHTSA has previously investigated loss of motive power involving Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles. I am reporting this incident so it can be included in NHTSA's safety data and evaluated for a possible broader safety defect. I can provide the VIN, towing records, photographs/videos of the warnings, diagnostic trouble codes, dealership findings, and repair records. I respectfully request that NHTSA document and investigate this safety complaint and determine whether further action or a safety recall is warranted.

My year 2024 jeep had severe "death wobble" when driving over 60mph just over a minor bump, and it was over the horizontal metal rails on a long bridge. Dealership just replaced the steering damper, the car still loses control over small bumps when driving over 60mph. It's really scary when the bump happens at a curve on freeway. The dealership refuses to look over any other possible causes but to charge me $200 for tire balancing. My car has never taken the off road and never hit anything before. My previous 2009 jeep NEVER had death wobble issues with normal driving.
