2010 TOYOTA RAV4 RECALL - #15V577000
RECALL FOR VISIBILITY/WIPER
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2012 RAV4 vehicles manufactured October 27, 2008, to December 19, 2012 and 2012-2014 RAV4 EV vehicles manufactured July 24, 2012, to August 29, 2014. In the affected vehicles, water may drip onto the joint that connects the wiper linkage to the wiper motor.

| Description |
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2012 RAV4 vehicles manufactured October 27, 2008, to December 19, 2012 and 2012-2014 RAV4 EV vehicles manufactured July 24, 2012, to August 29, 2014. In the affected vehicles, water may drip onto the joint that connects the wiper linkage to the wiper motor. |
| Consequences |
Over time, the dripping water may cause corrosion and wear at the joint, potentially resulting in the separation of the wiper linkage. Once this occurs, the wipers would not function, reducing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. |
| Corrective action |
Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the water diverter channel. In addition, a new wiper linkage with a wiper motor crank arm will be installed. The wiper linkage will have a protective cover over the wiper linkage joint to minimize water splash and a retainer ring to prevent the wiper arm from separating from the wiper motor. The recall began on November 7, 2016. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service number at 1-800-331-4331. |

Recently I have been experiencing a shimmy in the steering wheel when applying the brakes. I have had the rotors checked for possibly being warped and the checked the wear on the the disc pads. The vehicle has only 34000 miles and the the front pads were changed at 22000 and the rear pads were changed at 31000. Any idea why the steering wheel shakes a little bit when applying the brakes. The alignment and wheel balance has also been checked. HELP!

My 2010 RAV4 has been recalled for a problem with the Rear Suspension Arm No. 1 Assembly. Last night I heard strange clanking noises coming from the passenger side rear wheel area, and I immediately suspected the suspension arm as the culprit. The safety recall notice I received attributed the suspension arm problem to incorrect alignment servicing, but my RAV4 has only 31,000 miles on it and has never had alignment service. I would urge all affected RAV4 owners to get the safety recall service done as soon as possible.
