RECALL FOR STEERING : HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST : HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS

ON CERTAIN MOTOR COACHES, THE HOSE FITTINGS OF THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE FEED LINES MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY CRIMPED.

Description ON CERTAIN MOTOR COACHES, THE HOSE FITTINGS OF THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE FEED LINES MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY CRIMPED.
Consequences IF THE HOSE SEPARATES FROM THE FITTING, FAILURE OF THE LINES AND THE LOSS OF PRESSURE WILL RESULT IN AN INCREASED STEERING FORCE NECESSARY FOR MANEUVERING THE VEHICLE AND A CRASH MAY OCCUR.
Corrective action DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND DETERMINE THE CONDITION OF THE CRIMP FITTINGS. IF IMPROPERLY CRIMPED, STEERING LINE REPLACEMENT WILL BE REQUIRED. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 21, 2005. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT VAN HOOL AT 1-800-222-2871.
