2/23/2015 - COOKEVILLLE, TN
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND SUDDENLY STARTED TO JERK VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE AND DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THE FILTER. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED ONCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO GM RECALL #14350.* LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD OCCASIONALLY STALL WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND THE BATTERY, STARTER, ALTERNATOR, ETC. WERE RULED OUT AS POSSIBLE CAUSES. THE CONSUMER HAD TO INCUR THE COST OF A FAULTY IGNITION. THE CONSUMER FINALLY RECEIVED A RECALL. BUT, WAS STILL DENIED REIMBURSEMENT.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, A SPEED BUMP WAS ENCOUNTERED AND THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND CRASHED INTO AN EMBANKMENT AND GUARDRAILS. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED.
