RANDOM STALLING W/ ALL FUNCTIONS STOPPING. BRAKES, STEERING..ECT. TOOK IT TO SEVERAL LICENSED/CERTIFIED MECHANICS AND NOT 1 OF THEM CAN TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG. THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED 2 SERIOUS CRASHES SO I NO LONGER ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE IN THE CAR WITH ME. THE STALLING HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY GOING NEARLY 70MPH, ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY THROUGH TOWN WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC GOING APPROX. 35 MPH, ITS HAPPENED IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD STREET, ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK ON A COUNTRY ROAD (SEVERAL TIMES). THE VEHICLE HASN'T EVER STALLED WHILE RUNNING AND STATIONARY. FOR ME THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION

THIS LETTER IS TO FILE A COMPLAINT REGARDING CHRYSLER GROUP LLC FOR REPAIRS MADE TO A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICAÆS FRONT ENGINE CRADLE WITHIN A 10-YEAR OR 150,000 PERIOD SIMILAR TO THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE OF A PREVIOUS RECALL TO CHRYSLER PACIFICA MODEL YEARS 2004-2005. I EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE CRADLE SAFETY CONCERN AND THIS MATTER WAS SIMILAR TO THAT INCLUDED IN THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA MODEL YEARS 2004-2005 RECALL. THE PERFORATION OF CORROSION ON THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS A SAFETY HAZARD AND AS A RESULT WOULD NOT PASS THE VIRGINIA SAFETY INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS, THUS REQUIRING REPAIR. THREE ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO FIND A USED PART, BUT ALL PARTS RECEIVED HAD CORROSION IN THE SAME PLACE. THE REPAIR WAS MADE WITH CHRYSLER OEM PARTS. SINCE THIS SAFETY ISSUE WAS A SIMILAR THE PREVIOUS CHRYSLER RECALL, AND TO CORRECT A SAFETY HAZARD, I REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE SHOCKS AND STRUTS FRACTURED CAUSING THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AXLE AND RIM TO BECOME DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHOCKS AND STRUTS, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AXLE AND RIM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

OUR 2007 PACIFICA CONTINUES TO HAVE PROBLEMS. ONE CHRYSLER DEALER STATED IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND GOOD TO GO. 2 DAYS LATER STUDS ON TIRE BROKE OFF. OTHER SIDE STUDS WERE LOOSE AND HAD TO BE TIGHTENED. WE TOOK VEHICLE TO ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEALER WHO INSPECTED VEHICLE AND HAD A LIST OF THINGS WRONG INCLUDING ,REAR AND FRONT MOTOR MOUNTS BEING BROKE. POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKING, TRANSMISSION LINES LEAKING, REAR BRAKE PADS AND FRONT ROTORS NEED REPLACING AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT RIGHT CAMBER OFF IN FRONT AND REAR ALIGNMENT OFF AND RIGHT TOE IS OFF. THE FIRST DEALER STATED THEY DID A FRONT AND REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND LESS THAN3 WEEKS LATER THE ALIGNMENT IS THAT FAR OFF. SOMETHING RADICALLY WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE, AND/OR FIRST CHRYSLER DEALER. ALL OF THIS AFTER GOING THROUGH 3 PLUS SETS OF SHOCKS AND 2 TIE ROD ENDS AND NOW ANOTHER WHEEL ALIGNMENT! VERY UNSAFE, VEHICLE WITH STILL UNDIAGNOSED REASON FOR ALL THIS. CHRYSLER INSISTS THE VEHICLE CAN BE REPAIRED. WE DO NOT TRUST THAT STATEMENT ANY LONGER. IT IS OUR BELIEF THAT THIS CAR IS DEFECTIVE. WE BELIEVE SOMETHING IN THE SUSPENSION OR DESIGN IS CAUSING ALL OF THESE PARTS TO CONTINUE BREAKING, AND CONTINUOUS ALIGNMENT,TIRE, BRAKE PROBLEMS. NOW MOTOR MOUNTS AND POWER STEERING, AND TRANSMISSION LEAKS. WE DID NOT GET ANY VALUE FROM THIS CAR PURCHASE. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEFECTIVE CAR WE ARE STUCK WITH. WE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED TWICE ALREADY BY TIRES ALMOST FALLING OF CAR. NOW WE NEED TO WORRY ABOUT FIRES FROM LEAKING LINES AND ALSO WORRY ABOUT BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS. HELP US PLEASE! WE OWNED A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA CAR FOR 3 MONTHS, 46000 MILES APPROX, WHEN PURCHASED. AFTER THE FIRST 3 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP, THE REAR TIRES WENT COMPLETELY BALD , WIRES POKING OUT, THE CAR WAS BOTTOMING OUT ON EVERY BUMP. THE SPRINGS WERE WEAK WE WERE TOLD. THE SHOCKS WERE BROKEN, THE TIRES WERE COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE AND THE DEALER DID FIX AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. 2 NEW TIRES REPLACED , WHEEL ALIGNMENT, TWO NEW SHOCKS, AND SUPPOSEDLY SPRINGS FIXED. AT APPROX. 8 MONTHS LATER THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN BOTTOMING OUT. ONCE AGAIN WE WERE TOLD SHOCKS BROKEN. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED AND REPLACED SHOCKS, DEALER DID WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND A TIE ROD END WAS REPLACED. IN APPROXIMATELY 10 MONTHS WE AGAIN NOTICED THE CAR WAS MAKING NOISE AND BOTTOMING OUT. ONCE AGAIN SHOCKS WERE BROKEN AND THE OTHER TIE ROD END NEEDED REPLACING. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE WAS NOTIFIED FROM THE FIRST INCIDENT AND SUBSEQUENTLY AT EACH ADDITIONAL OCCURENCE. THE DEALER PAID AT THE FIRST OCCURENCE, CHRYSLER PROVIDED SHOCKS AT SECOND OCCURENCE, ON THE LAST OCCURENCE CHRYSLER REQUIRED AN INSPECTION BY A CHRYSLER DEALER. ANOTHER TIE ROD WAS REPLACED. WE WERE TOLD BY DEALER CAR WAS GOOD TO GO. WE TOOK TRIP TO PICK UP FAMILY AT AIRPORT AND HAD TO BE TOWED. UPON REINSPECTION 2 DAYS LATER, WE WERE TOLD 2 STUDS HAD COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF LEFT REAR TIRE, AND TIRE COULD HAVE COME OFF ON FREEWAY AT SPEEDS OF 65 MPH. THEY ALSO DISCOVERED TWO LUGS ON RIGHT REAR TIRE WERE LOOSE. THIS WAS THE SECOND INCIDENT WHERE OUR SAFETY WAS AT RISK. 4 SETS OF SHOCKS 2 TIRES 2 TIE ROD ENDS AND 3 WHEEL ALIGNMENTS LATER. VERY UNSATISFIED. THE CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD ON THE ROAD. SUSPENSION DESIGN FLAW???

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE AS THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THERE WERE NUMEROUS PARTS REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE OVER A PERIOD OF TIME INCLUDING TWO TIE ROD ENDS, FOUR SHOCKS AND A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED WITH EACH REPAIR. MOST RECENT LY, THE LUG NUT STUDS WERE REPLACED DUE TO THE SUSPENSION DEFECT. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN OF THE LOCATION OF THE PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED FOR ANY OF THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.

INFORMED DURING ROUTINE STATE INSPECTION STRUTS NEEDED REPLACING. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO SOUTHERN CHRYSLER JEEP. DEALER REPLACED STRUT MOUNTS AND STRUT BEARINGS, INFORMED THAT THEY WERE "COMING APART". SERVICE ADVISER SAID THE STRUTS ON THOSE VEHICLES WERE "A PIECE OF SCRAP , BUT YOU DIDN'T HEAR THAT FROM ME". INFORMED THAT THEY HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEM WITH THOSE. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL? YOU CAN SEE FROM THE MILEAGE, I DON'T DRIVE LONG DISTANCES, I DON'T RUN OVER POTHOLES OR DRIVE ON ROCKY ROADS.

REAR ENGINE MOUNTS ARE DEFECTIVE IN VEHICLE, THE ENGINE IS SHIFTING WITHIN THE CAR CAUSING IT TO HIT THE TRANSMISSION. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTROL ARM WITHIN THE CAR IS BROKEN AND LOOSE. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2008 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FOR THE SAME PROBLEM BECAUSE THE DRIVER CAN LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE IN OPERATION. MY 2007 IS CURRENTLY BEING LOOKED AT FOR THIS ISSUE. CAUSE AS STATED BY MECHANIC: INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE STEERING GEAR AND BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS BUSHINGS BROKEN AND LOOSE.

THERE IS A NOISE COMING FROM SUSPENSION OR STEERING. IT OCCURS WHEN BACKING OUT AND TURNING. TWO LOUD CLUNKS. ONE WHEN BACKING UP AND TURNING, ONE WHEN STRAIGHTENING UP THE WHEELS. ALSO, WHEN TURNING WHILE DRIVING, MANY TIMES THERE IS A NOISE COMING FROM STEERING - FEELS LIKE A SHORT GRIND RESONATING INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. AT FIRST I THOUGH IT WAS A TIRE HITTING ON SOMETHING ON THE CAR. I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW ( 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA). NOT UNTIL LAST YEAR, DID DEALER TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY AND TOOK A LOOK AT IT. CAR WAS IN FOR A TOTAL OF THREE OR FOUR TIMES. ONCE FOR AS LONG AS THREE WEEKS. I AM BEING TOLD THE CROSS MEMBER WAS REPLACED. UNFORTUNATELY, THE CAR IS STILL MAKING THE SAME NOISES AND I AM AFRAID IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I THINK IT IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. SURE FEELS LIKE SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT.

THE WHEEL AND ALL OF ITS COMPONENTS; STEERING KNUCKLE, CV JOINTS, BRAKE LINES, STRUTS ETC, BUCKLED UNDER THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE VEHICLE DROPPED DOWN WITH THE TIRE ACTING AS A CUSHION, IT DRAGGED ALONG THE GUARDRAIL UNTIL IT CAME TO A STOP.

THE UCC CAN BE USED TO CANCEL THE SALE OF A USED CAR. I AM SURE THAT YOU ARE SWAMPED WITH TOYOTA ISSUES, BUT WE CHRYSLER OWNERS ARE GETTING UPSET AT THE PERFORMANCE ALSO. BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS, TORQUE CONVERTERS, ROUGH IDLES, STALLING, BUMPING GEARS, ETC. MY 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS THE ROUGHEST TRANSMISSION I HAVE EVER DRIVEN IN MY 38 PLUS YEARS OF DRIVING, STALLING ON MORNING START-UPS, BANGING NOISES IN THE FRONT AROUND TURNS, AND THE LIST GOES ON. CHRYSLER MUST DO SOMETHING ON THIS DISCONTINUED PACIFICA MODEL, THE 4.0 LITRE TOURING. LIKE MOST OWNERS OF THE CHRYSLER PIECE, THIS IS THE LAST CHRYSLER I WILL EVER OWN, OR PERHAPS MAYBE THEY, OR NO-ONE EVEN CARES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE FAILURE THEY STATED THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THEY ALSO STATED THEY WERE WORKING ON A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN TO ADDRESS THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNDER 100 AND THE CURRENT WAS 39, 386. UPDATED 01/27/10 THE RACK AND PINION WAS REPLACED AS WELL AS THE SWAY BAR LINKS. UPDATED 01/28/10 .

TL CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. IN JULY OF 2007, WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND NO FAILURES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED AT HER LAST VISIT THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS DEFECTIVE. IN OCTOBER OF 2007, THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED AND LATER REPLACED AGAIN IN JULY OF 2008. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING BOTH REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE MADE A CLICKING NOISE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE UPPER STRUT MOUNT AND BEARINGS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,750 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO HIGH GEAR IN A TIMELY MANNER OR SMOOTHLY UPON ACCELERATION. THE LOWER GEAR SHIFTING WAS VERY ROUGH. UPDATED 11/26/08.

AFTER THE CAR WAS A MONTH OLD A THUMPING STARTED UNDERNEATH UPON STARTING. AT TIMES THE THUMPING (SHUDDERING) IS SEVERE AND THE ENGINE DOES NOT START. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPROGRAMMED (I DOUBT IT WAS REALLY DONE AS THERE IS NO STICKER UNDERTHE HOOD AS REQUIRED) THE CAR, SOMETIMES, LURCHES LIKE A NEW DRIVER WITH STANDARD SHIFT. THE CAR, SOMETIMES AT AROUND 32MPH, SURGES OR PULSES. THE CLIMATE CONTROL HAS NOT WORKED ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL SINCE DAY ONE. NOW IN COLDWEATHER, WHEN IT IS DIRECTED TO THE FLOOR, SO MUCH HEAT COMES FROM THE DEFROSTER THAT I GET A HEADACHE AND THE FLOOR IS FREEZING. THERE IS A CLUNKING IN THE RIGHT FRONT ON NEARLY ANY ROAD SURFACE. I DO NOT FEEL THAT IT IS A BALL JOINT, BUT RATHER A STRUT. I SCHEDULED AN ARBITRATION, BUT NCDS DID NOT BOTHERTO LET ME KNOW IF THE ARBITRATOR COULD MAKE THE MEETING, SO I DID NOT ATTEND. THE MEETING PROCEEDED WITHOUT ME AND THE ARBITRATOR AND CHRYSLER SEEM TO FEEL THAT EVERYTHING MY CAR DOES IS NORMAL. I HAVE BEEN IN THE AUTO REPAIR BUSINESS FOR 40 YEARS AND HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN MAKE UP PROBLEMS.

TL CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES 2,000 RPMS WHILE ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, THE TRANSMISSION BEGINS TO SHUTTER AND SKIP. THIS LEADS TO FAILURE BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THE CONTACT RECENTLY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT IT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED UNTIL SEPTEMBER OF 2007. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO MAKES A HARSH CLUNKING SOUND WHEN SHIFTING. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE SUSPENSION MAY BE FAILING BECAUSE THE VEHICLE RIDES ROUGHLY AT ANY SPEED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 350. THE CONSUMER STATED CHRYSLER STATED THIS WAS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIX THE VEHICLE UNTIL SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER. UPDATED 09/11/07
