2023 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L Complaints

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit unexpectedly applied the brakes while traveling approximately 78 mph with Adaptive Cruise Control engaged. There was no vehicle, object, or obstruction directly ahead. The forward collision/ACC warning activated immediately before the vehicle braked. At approximately the same time, the driver had touched the power lumbar button to disengage the lumbar. The lumbar had independently activated approximately 15–20 minutes earlier. Not sure if the 2 are related or if the is just coincidental?

This is in regards to my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, the rear coil spring has detached from its position while the vehicle was in park. I had spoken to Mopar representative for concern of what i have read on their recall, the rep. had told me that my vehicle was already checked and completed on July of 2023. So i asked her why did the spring coil detached while in park if the issue was completed. same as other owners that has similar issues on the recall that i have read on complaints. can you please look into this as this could result in serious accident. there is a recall on this issue but my vehicle VIN # was not on the list of the recall. Thank you

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH, the headlight high beams failed to automatically activate as designed. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the automatic high/low beam activation system was inoperable. However, the vehicle was not repaired because the dealer was unable to repair the vehicle. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V130000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.

Rear passenger side coil spring fell out. Vehicle was previously inspected and deemed not affected by the known coil spring recall by a CDJR service department. More recently deemed not included in the investigation looking into later ongoing issues. Currently the vehicle is in the possession of this service department awaiting parts and the Dealership is correcting or repairing via an extended warranty, also I will be paying my deductible with the warranty to complete the work.

We were accelerating from a stop light and reached about 50 mph when the brakes activated and large red letters saying “BRAKE” were displayed on the drivers dash screen and an alarm sounded. The vehicle slowed rapidly and suddenly. Fortunately we were around no other traffic so there was no collision. There were no impediments on the roadway which might have reasonably caused the brakes to activate.

Upon inspection, the contact discovered a spring sticking out of the middle of the rear end of the vehicle. The contact stated that there was a QR code attached to the coil spring with the part information. Upon further investigation, the contact discovered that the vehicle was serviced previously for the failure under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V413000 (Suspension). The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the vehicle would be covered under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V051000 (Suspension); however, the contact later received a call that the vehicle was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact was informed by his daughter that the rear passenger’s side of the vehicle was low, and the ride height of the vehicle was not normal. The contact inspected under the vehicle and discovered that the rear passenger’s side suspension coil spring had detached from the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V051000 (SUSPENSION). No further information was available. The failure mileage was 71,000.

While the contact’s husband was driving 70 MPH, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the rear of the vehicle, and an unknown metal object detached and flew off the vehicle into the traffic behind the vehicle. The vehicle was pulled over and inspected, but there were no signs of the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the suspension coil had dislodged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

The contact stated that while his wife was driving 20-25 MPH, the accelerator pedal became stuck, and the vehicle drove through a stop sign and intersection, swerving into a farm, and crashed into a pole in order to bring the vehicle to a stop. After removing her foot from the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The contact stated that the air bag had not deployed. There were no injuries sustained. There were no warning lights illuminated. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and suggested that the vehicle be towed to the dealer. A claim was filed with the insurance company. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and occupied, the climate control was inoperable, and the odometer was flashing on the instrument panel. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was unknown. The climate control module was reset, the connector to the climate control module was reset, the climate module was replaced, and the battery was replaced. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 41,000.
