OUR 2004 HONDA ODYSSEY DRIVER SIDE SEAT BROKE FROM THE BRACKET. THE WELDS THAT HOLD THE SEAT TO THE BRACKET BROKE CAUSING THE SEAT TO START TILTING AND WOBBLING WHILE WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING INCREASING RISK OF COLLISIONS.

THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V344000 (AIR BAGS) BY GILLMAN HONDA (10595 W SAM HOUSTON PKWY S, HOUSTON, TX 77099, (866) 935-8321); HOWEVER, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL GRINDING SOUND UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY ALTHOUGH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS BEING DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V176000 (POWER TRAIN). THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE BARRIER. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT'S WIFE SUSTAINED NECK ACHES, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,571.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN NECESSARY AND THERE WAS A DELAY WHEN CHANGING GEARS. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR AND INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES FLASHED. MARTIN MAIN LINE HONDA (123 E LANCASTER AVE, ARDMORE, PA 19003, 1-(610) 649-5600) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT COULD NOT PRODUCE A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THREE DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITIES AND EACH ONE DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER DID NOT STATE IF THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V176000 (POWER TRAIN). THERE WAS NO OPEN POWER TRAIN RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED 26 TSBS FOR THE POWER TRAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
