THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. WHILE OPENING THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR, IT WOULD NOT LATCH OR CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LATCH AND LOCKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V504000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES), BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL WAS REMEDIED; HOWEVER, THE DRIVER SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION MAT BEGAN TO EXHIBIT THE SAME EXACT FAILURES AS MENTIONED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS NOT RECALLED AND WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES, BUT NO SOLUTION WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL, THE TIRES SPUN BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
